"Ethan? Ethan!" I focused back in on the real world. My vision was blurred, and my cheeks were streaked with tears. "Oh, bud." He said, pulling me in for a hug. I'm 15, but I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tight like I was 6.
"It scares me so bad..." I managed to say with what little voice I had.
"I know it must be scary, but we'll get through it. There is nothing you can do now other than forget about it and not let it bug you. You're a good kid who can accomplish anything you put your mind to." Those words... The note... Oh god. I started crying more. "Ethan!' He said, putting his arms on my shoulders and pushing me away. "Dude, you're going to get your tears all over my shirt!" He said, laughing. I smirked a little bit and sniffled, trying to stop the tears. "There we go, see, maybe what you needed was some talking to. Maybe I should get a job as a counselor instead."
I shrugged, wiping my eyes and cheeks. "You'd be good at it." I said.
"Alrighty." He said, cracking his white toothed smile. How can he be so happy all the time? "You can go back to class now, but like I said, if you need to, go relax somewhere. I'm on my way to a meeting, do you want me to take you home?"
I thought about it. Then I remembered Myra. "Um... No. I'n good. Thanks though." I said back to him. "I'll go sit in the bathroom for a few minutes like you said."
"Okay." He said, sticking his fist out. I bumped it with mine and smiled. "I have to go. Stay strong, okay? And next time Ms. Kylee tells you to come down here, you don't have to. But if you want to talk like this some more, visit anytime. Alright?"
"Alright." I replied. "Have fun a your meeting!" I said to him as I walked out the door.
"You know it." He said back to me. I walked out the double doors to the office, and noticed that that group of girls were still sitting there.
"Aren't you guys supposed to be in a class?" I yelled to them from about twenty-five feet away, my words echoing down the empty corridor.
"Maybe." One of the girls snapped back. I shivered at the sight of her. Katie. Why do you care?"
"Honestly, I really don't, because it's your ass on the line, not mine." I answered, as I walked closer to them.
"What happened to you Ethan?" A girl named Hannah said, AKA, Jayden's bratty ex-girlfriend. "You used to be cool, until stupid Jayden ki-" By then I was right next to their group. The reason she stopped? Because I grabbed her phone from her, only to reveal the picture. The picture was the same one mentioned in the letter Jayden wrote. The letter nobody else knows about. I grabbed the phone from her and swiped out of the photos tab. "Hey! Give it back, fag!"
"You're calling me a fag, but last time I checked you're not dating anyone anymore, because you were debating whether you were straight or not. I on the other hand, am. So... did you come to terms, are you still confused?"
All of the girls in the group looked at her, eyes wide. "I swear . He's lying. You're not dating anyone either!"
"I will be soon! Just you wait." I snapped back. I took her phone, turned around, and threw it with all of my strength at a nearby wall. The whole group of girls gasped, and Hannah shoved passed me and ran to the phone, now in pieces. She got down on her knees and picked it up. The screen wasn't recognizable as a screen anymore. The pieces of shattered glass were scattered out all around it. She scraped up as much as she could, tears running down her face. "What the fuck Haile?!" She yelled, getting up and spinning around in a big blur of hair.
"Hey!" We heard a voice yell from all the way down the hall. All heads looked in the direction it came from. It was out gym teacher, Mr. Palmer. He was walking toward us, but from the complete opposite side of the hall, it'd take him at least a minutes to get to us.
"Well, you know I'd love to stay and chat, but I have to get to my class. And you wouldn't be in this situation if you were too. Now, I've been through a lot this year. We all know that. All of the teachers in this school feel pity for me, and my uncle is the principle. So, even if you do tell someone, it'll make its way to him. If he finds out the reason I did it, he won't care. Jayden was my closest friend, and him going out me through Hell, so if you ever bring him up again, Your... Punishment, will be much worse. I'm glad that now you know that your actions have consequences." Mr. Palmer was only about 30 feet away, so I tipped my invisible hat, and turned the corner.
I heard Mr. Palmer yelling at them. "What did you say?" They mumbled something. "You said it again! What's wring with you? What happened?" She looked over and saw me. I shrugged and kept walking.
"Um. Uh..." She was thinking of an excuse. "Sarah smacked it out of my hands!"
"Hey!" Sarah yelled. I laughed, as i made my way back to Ms. Kylee's room. *sigh* Myra.
