Authors note: Hi hope you are enjoying!! Just to say the dress above is her dress for the gathering.

Two weeks has past since I received an invite for the
gathering, let's just say I have been pampered and tampered with to make myself look relatively okay. I have some sort of dress I must wear, I'm actually surprised, I didn't look to cringe worthy in the dress (which is a big change from my everyday look). It is a really beautiful dress, with a silver jewelled top half and a creamy pink flowing skirt. I actually for once liked it and wore it with some silver metallic pumps.

According to my fashion designer John, it really complemented my blue-grey eyes (what difference does it make?) I had my shoulder length, jet black hair curled slightly. I also had to be forced to have a dab of make up put into my face. I didn't look to bad I'll admit that.

You look great Adz!

Don't call me that!

I'm not going to lie, I'm super nervous for tonight. I will be going to a dinner with the likes of Alexander Emerson and Olivia Derek. They are some big names in detective and spy business. Apparently (according to social media) all high class detectives are snooty and serious all the time. They probably haven't met me then.
You know, Olivia and Alexander could be very nice people Addy.

Haha I doubt it. You know what, as you are the other irrational part of my brain, I may as well give you a name.
Annoying.
That's what I will call you!
A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G!
What a genius I am.

Beep beep

I guess I must leave my amazing comfy bed, for some stupid, waste of my time, annoying, bloody idiotic, posh gathering.

Have some faith Addy!

No go away annoying.

The long dreary taxi ride seemed to last hours upon hours, when in reality it was only 30 minutes. The taxi driver was a creep, he was around 50, overweight and had a pig face. He kept trying all these 'subtle' pickup lines on me, which would never end well, especially with a depressed, detective who claims she won't fall for anything (me).
I stepped out of the stuffy taxi cab and on to the wet pavement. A shiver went down my spine as my body hit the freezing air. I looked up at the grand tall building that lay in front of me.

This must be it, here goes nothing.

I drew in one last deep breath.

Well, Here goes the last of my dignity...
