Wings of Fire Part 1

   I ran after the bird I passed a centaur and a cyclops then on a burnt tree branch was a Phoenix. "What are doing," I ask it "Running," it replied "Why and from who," "The hunters they want my wings of fire," oh gods I thought fighting another god. Artemis leads the hunt with her hunters who aren't allowed to marry.

   "If you protect me I'll give you a wish," he said "Deal," I said instantly. I knew exactly what I wanted. "You might need some help you alone can't stop the hunters," Phoenix says "I know," I replied I looked over and there was a puddle a rainbow was shimmering I took out a gold coin and threw it in oh great Iris please accept my offering the water twinkled "Mere Camp Half Blood," Mere appeared "Were are you it's lunch," she said "With something and I need you here now!" "I can't I'm hungry and-," "What it I told the something is a Phoenix," "I'll be there ASAP,". I knew she would come if I told her that Mere always wanted to see a Phoenix in person and Rose wanted draw one.

Mere stepped through the mist and Rose followed. "So we're is it," Rose asked "I'm not an it I'm a male missy," "Sorry," Rose said "Is that ok If I draw you," she asked "Well if you stop calling me an it maybe I can allow you to capture my beauty," "Deal,". Phoenix sat on the branch looking at the sky scowling Rose started drawing. "Jack and I will scout ahead," Mere said "Ok," Rose replied. Mere and I alone looking in the woods this might be time for me to make my move.

We walked toward a hill "So who's after Phoenix anyway?" Mere asked "Artist mis and her hunters," I replied "Another god to deal with," Mere groaned. I knew Artemis couldn't touch us but her hunters could. "Help!" Mere got caught in a net I pulled out my sword and slashed the net it didn't cut "Ugh," Mere was getting pissed with Artemis already. I pulled the tree branch it snapped and Mere fell "Ow!" she scowled at me "Saved you see," she threw the net over herself "Thanks," she muttered "What's that you said," "Thanks," she said louder "Wha," "TTTTHHHAAANNNKKKSSS," Mere screamed "Your welcome," I replied.

   We got back to Rose and Phoenix at sunset she was done not only drawing Phoenix but also colored him in color pencil. "Wow that's amazing," I said "You can say that again," Mere said. "Thanks guys but we can't draw forever we need to go some were safe like now!" Rose said "Wait!" Mere threw a coin in the rainbow and prayed three seconds later Carter and Caden walk threw the rainbow I opened my mouth to explain but "We know everything Iris told us," Carter said. Well good I don't have to explain now because it's been a long morning/afternoon. We set up camp and it was dusk by then I would go to sleep but the hunters are out now. "Who's having guard duty first?" Caden asked "Mere and I will," I volunteered us "Ok sounds good," Caden walked off we ate some soup Rose made then Mere and I stood watch while then others rested.

  It was about one in the morning I would say a arrow whizzed past me and almost hit Phoenix in the eye "There here," Mere said she gritted her teeth and pulled out here prism and a sword she never used a sword before well this is new. I drew my bow we stood back to back wait for another arrow two more fired they flew past us but luckily Phoenix saw them coming and flew up thats when two hunter came out of the brush and drew swords Carter came out and saw what was going on and awoke Caden and Rose they all came out Caden had sword Rose was duel wielding two short swords and Carter had a bone shield and Ice sword they all looked different I guess Bryson dying changed us all in way. The hunter waved there hand and three more hunter showed up in less than a second wait Phoenix I looked up and there he was on the top of the tree "Give it up Half Bloods you can't bet us you're weak so step a side," the hunter taunted "Never," Mere said scowling "Well then we didn't want to do this but you leave us with no choice," Three hunters charged the other two fired arrows Carter hoped in front of us and deflected the arrows and the hunters slashed the shield Carter backed up a hunter kicked the shield and he fell Rose slashed then blocked as she and Mere engaged in combat "You get the archers," Caden said as he ran along to help Mere and Rose Carter got up again and shoot ice the two archers slipped and cursed in greek Carter in front and I stood behind him and drew my bow and fired it hit the hunter in the leg Carter unexpectedly dropped the shield and stabbed the other in the leg they were down "You little Half Blood scum you can't win," she fired and arrow and hit Carter in the shoulder he fell down in hissed in pain he pointed his sword at her throat "You're luck your still alive little hunter," he spat then he walked away.

   The other hunters saw what happened and one made a weird call and they all retreated we regrouped "We should gust have killed them," Carter said "No then not only Artemis would want us dead but Zeus and Apollo might try to kill us too," Rose said "I guess you have a point well I'm going to bed," Carter walked away to his tent and Rose and Caden when to there too. Mere and I sat by the fire "So what you gonna wish for," she asked "I don't know yet there's two things I want but and they have the something in common but I want keep it a surprise," I said "Well I guess its personal than," she said looking a little sad I didn't tell her but I couldn't. Yet.
