In my opinion, Dan is rather ungrateful to his fans.
In the videos where they go through Tumblr looking at all the fanart and fanfiction and memes, he doesn't say, "wow thank you guys so much for this all without you we would be nothing."
Instead Dan makes weird screaming noises and says stuff like "I'm done" "I can't even" and doesn't think of how much time and effort his fans put into making all of that stuff.
At least Phil shows his appreciation and thanks the person who made whatever the thing was, but Dan never does anything of the sort.
