Chapter 9: Three Will Rise

The next floor was empty, too empty, save for the cameras.

Z: “An empty room. It just seems too-”

??: “Hold it right there! Seems like we finally caught up to ya!”

The gang turns to see who has been hot on their tail. It was an officer with a whole NEOS swat team behind him.

Z: “I'd knew we’d meet again, fatman.”

Ace: “Don't call me that! It's Officer Ace to you.”

Z: “Well Ace, every dog gets his bone, remember that. Now if I was you I'd tuck my tail in between those pudgy little legs of yours, and hightail it out of here.”

Ace took shelter behind the swat team. With final words before his departure, “I might just do that, but first... FIRE!!!!” *bang, bang, bang*

They didn't stand a chance. No one had the energy, or the ambition to chase down the fatman.

ELLy: “Uhg, when can I get out of these mucky cloths? I hate looking like a sludge monster...”

Z: “Yes, now that we're soaked now.”

RY: “We really could use a change of clothes.”

Z: “Here.” he pointed to a door near by. “There, the locker room.”

Z opened the door to the room. It was a standard locker room. No booby traps, no guards, no tricks, just lockers. Each locker had a number assigned to it.

Z: “Look Elly, here's your locker. Remember your locker number?”

ELLy: “Number? Hmmm, I don't know, but if I know me, let's give it a try.”

ELLy: “1...2... ahum...5!” *click* “Yay!”

1 fresh change of clothes later...

RY: “What do you think?”

Z: “Like La'may (the moon) has blessed me.”

RY: “Aww, that's so sweet.”

ELLy: “Why do you guy's get cool clothes and capes, while I'm stuck in pink.”

Z: “That's what you wanted...”

RY: “Well I'm all stocked up on ammo.”

Z: “Looks like everyone's ready. Lets get to is.”

Z led them up to floor 8. Lively were the walls of the hall. Alive with the buzz of 20 saw blades. Each connected to the wall by a mechanical arm. There at the end of the hall was a figure, too distant to make out. As quick as he was spotted, a fire bolt whizzed straight past RY's head almost nicking her face. He was gone.

ELLy: “What was that?”

RY: “By the looks of the magic, It must be Mobi the mage, or at least his neg.

Z: “Close in on him.”

The Neg reappeared. They rushed towards him, doing their best to avoid the buzz saws whirling about. Z was closing in, RY took aim. He vanished again. “You'll never catch meee, -19.” A Flash of light came from behind them. ELLy was lucky enough to dodge the magical blast at the last second. Turning back, there was no one to be found.

Dark clouds formed on the roof of the corridor. The team was still trying to keep up with the whirling blades. The clouds released it's present, snow.

-19 calling out from nowhere: “See if you can dodge thees!”

The snow seemed to stop free falling. Each snowflake formed a spike, then the snow continued its bittersweet decent.

Z reacting quickly, grabbed a hold of one of the saws, ripping its mechanics out of the wall.

Z: “Take cover!!!” He raised the enormous saw above his head to shield themselves from the onslaught of the blizzard.

Huddled, to keep safe from the fierce winter. Eventually the storm passed.

RY: “I have an idea. Z, go long!”

Dropping the cover, the mage reappeared.

Z rushed the Neg. Just as he swung his swords, the wizard faded away, out of sight.

*click*The sparrow flew. Just as she predicted. Before the bullet, the wizard's head materialized. *splat*

RY: “Let's get outta here.”
