A/N: hey i hope you guys are enjoying so far even though nothing really happened lmao? also when i wrote "he took another sip" the temptation to write "take a fucking sip babe" was indescribable

It got very quiet again after that. Your mind was still trying to wrap around what your commander was asking you to do.

"Y-you want me, Sir?" You stuttered.

The general was now leaning against a chair with his whiskey in one hand. "That's what I said, Miss (L/N)." He took another sip. "Are you willing to accept this mission?"

You were about to open your mouth to answer, but you hesitated a moment too long.

"Well of course you don't have to accept it." He said.

Your shoulders relaxed a bit knowing that you could make a decision without there being any consequences.

"However," He started. "We would have to discharge you."

Your eyebrows shot up. "You what?" You asked incredulously.

He stood up straight and started walking around the tent. "I told you this mission is top secret Miss (L/N) and if anyone, no matter Red Coat or Blue Coat, knows about this other than the people involved, we would have to eliminate them." He paused for a second and turned to look you in the eyes "Do you understand (Y/N)?"

The fact that he called you by your first name made you realize how serious he was about not only discharging, but most likely killing you.

So to kill or not to kill? You thought. You weren't quite sure if you were thinking about yourself or George Washington. You honestly didn't care about who won the war and also, killing someone? You were trained to help save people not hurt them! You mulled the decision over some more.

"I'll do it."

Your officer grinned at you with a smile that made you think you just made a deal with the Devil.
"You'll start in a couple hours," he said seriously. "You better be a damn good actress."

Running in heels is easily one of the most difficult things you've ever done, and you've performed surgery before. Your goal right now is to run to the Yankee's camp, make up some sob story, and convince them to let you stay and "help" during the war. The plan was in action and you spotted a man with a blue coat near a tree on a hill. You sighed in relief and sprinted even faster towards him.

"Sir!" You said out of breath as you grabbed his shoulder. The man jumped at the sudden contact and turned around. "Please, sir you have to help me! He's after me!!"

He gripped your forearms and looked at you. "Miss who's after you? What's wrong?" He asked concerned.

"T-this Redcoat! H-h-he wouldn't leave me alone and I tried to g-get away b-but he just started ch-chasing me!!" You sobbed into his chest.

"Shhh shh," he wrapped his arms around you to try to comfort you. "It's alright, Miss I don't see anybody chasing you anymore."

You had to give yourself a pat on the back for this top notch performance. Maybe after the war you could start being in plays? You almost laughed at the thought, but you hid it with another sob. The man, desperate to have you calm down, invited you to come back to his camp to rest a while. The walk to the camp wasn't very far, but it was far enough for you to learn that you ran into Alexander Hamilton, the General's right hand man.

How lucky of you.

He led you into his tent and he allowed you to sit on the cot while he sat on a chair near you. "Well Miss..." He started. You gave him your name and he nodded in understandment. "Miss (Y/N), do you have any family we can contact or any other place to go?"

You shook your head and explained that you haven't seen your parents in a long time, which wasn't a lie. Your parents left when you were very young but you live with your aunt now.

He sighed and leaned back. You could tell Hamilton was debating with himself whether or not you should stay. You had to think of a way to convince him...quick.

You wrapped yourself in a blanket and made yourself look small and defenseless. "I'm very handy in the medical field, Mr. Hamilton," you said in a small voice. "I can help with the nurses."

He stared at you for a little while and then he smiled. "Well we have to go to the General first so he knows we have a new nurse here."
You grinned back at him and thank him profusely. The both of you walked out the tent and toward Washington's tent.

"I must warn you Miss (Y/N) he seems very harsh, but he's a very sympathetic man."

You nodded and said you could handle him. He grinned at your statement and opened the tent flap to let you in. Hamilton asked you to stand behind him as he tells the General of your presence.

The tent was very different than your commander's. It was smaller and wasn't as well kept. You were reminded how much of an advantage the British had over the colonists. In the middle of the tent was a man at a desk, scribbling furiously on some piece of parchment

"Sir, we have a...situation." Hamilton said to his commander.

"Situation?" The man said, while still looking down at his paperwork. "What kind of situation, Hamilton? I hope you haven't got into any duels again."

You giggled quietly as that.

"No, Sir," Hamilton said and you could see his face get pink with embarrassment. "Well you see, Sir, I ran into a woman who was being chased by a British and she has nowhere to go. She says she's a very good nurse, so I was hoping you would allow her to stay with us."

As Washington's head lifted up, you looked down and nervously started to fiddle with a loose string on your dress, praying to God that he would allow you to stay here.

It was silent for a while as the General scanned you, trying to see if you were a threat or not.
Your heart was pounding in those fifteen seconds of silence and you finally looked up.
The both of you froze as you held each other's gaze. Both thought the other was incredibly attractive and couldn't stop staring at the other's eyes.

Washington was thinking how hard it's going to be to work around such a beautiful woman.

You were thinking how hard it's going to be to kill this man.
