It took me a good day to find Flame Princess. She was sitting next to a river, and it was obvious that she had been crying. I approached her carefully, not wanting to scare her and end up getting burned. As I drew closer, it became known to me that she still was crying. I finally got right beside her and kneeled down to get on her level. I sat there a minute before I finally build up the nerve to say something.
"Hey, Flame Princess, are you okay?" I asked in a soft, caring tone as I put my hand on her shoulder trying to comfort her.
She immediately stood up and glared at me. I could clearly tell that she wasn't happy to see me.
"What do you want from me? Did Finn send you to try to get me to come back?" she demanded
I stood up to get on her level. I walked toward her, not caring about the heat that was resonating from her body. I took off my hood.
"No, I'm here because I'm sorry for what happened. I'm here because you didn't deserve what Finn did to you. I'm here because I'm hoping that I could have a chance to show you that I care about you too much to hurt you. But most of all..." I said
Flame Princess came closer to me. She looked interested in what I was saying. She was blushing, and obviously happy.
"Most of all?" she asked me, wanting me to finish.
I looked her straight in the eyes.
"But most of all, I'm here because I love you, and I'll do anything to make you happy and feel loved." I said
She stopped what she was doing and just stared at me with a blank look on her face. It almost looked like she was about to go ballistic, but then something unexpected happened. She fell into my arms and started crying.
"Nobody *sniff* has ever *sniff* said that to me before." she sobbed
I looked down at her and noticed something odd. I wasn't being burned by her touch. This alarmed me so much that I jumped back. She looked up at me and then turned away from me.
"I'm so sorry! Oh glob why do I have to hurt everyone who likes me? I really didn't mean to... " she tried to say
I cut her off in the middle of her sentence with a kiss. She stared back into my eyes wondering what was happening.
" Flame Princess, you didn't hurt me. I scared myself. Your heat didn't burn me at all. For some strange reason, it's the exact opposite." I said
She smiled back at me.
"Maybe we can give 'us' a chance Bishop." she said
