The Room

"I DIDN'T KILL HER!"

Amiin's breaths were deep and full of rage. How could he kill Violet. She was his best friend, and he loved her. The thought of killing her nearly made him faint. Without Violet he couldn't function.

She was his source of strength.

"Mr. Bahard, please do not raise your voice at me", said Officer Shard, "Now let's try this again."

Amiin was getting impatient. They've kept him in this room for about six hours now, and they keep asking him one question.

Did you kill Violet Aragos?

No matter how many times he said no, the officer kept repeating the question as if someone had hacked into his brain and put him on repeat. He wore a black ski mask, his face hidden from me. Strange. Is this apart of protocol?

After a while, he started adding more questions.

"Did you hate Violet?"

"No."

"Have you and Miss. Aragos had any arguments recently?"

"No."

"What's your favorite type of drink?"

"Dr. Pepper."

"Did you kill Viol-"

"For the last goddamn time, I DIDN'T KILL VIOLET!"

My eyes began to burn with tears. They were tears of anger not sadness. Actually, maybe a little bit of both. The cold grey room was getting to me.

I hate small spaces.

The officer looked at me and smiled. Then, he left the room. No words or anything. Just gone. Did he finally believe me? Can't be, he would've told me I was free to go. Where did he go? When I looked at the giant glass pane, all I saw was myself. Me and the grey bland room. As I look at the reflective glass, I see the red light on the camera shut off. The officer walked back inside, and slowly closed the door behind him. He gave me a devilish smile.

He lifted his hand. Well, his fist. The gleam of the silver brass knuckles caused me to hold my breath. I knew exactly what was about to happen, but what could I do? He was blocking the door, the cameras were off, and the two-way glass was probably unbreakable.

I was stuck. No plan. No way of escape. Stuck.

The officer jumped over the steel table, and grabbed my shirt with his unbrassed fist. He eyed me up and down before ramming his fist into my stomach. All of the air left my body and I fell to the ground. I was just getting up when I felt a foot hit me right in my ribcage. The officer continued kicking me until I heard four severe snaps come from my ribcage.

He lifted me off of the ground with one hand, and punched me square in the jaw with the other. Everything was blurry, and all I tasted was blood.

I need to find out his name.

I looked up at the officer, but I couldn't read his name-tag with these eye injuries. I darted at him and gripped my hand on his name-tag. He kicked me off of him, which caused me to fly across the room and hit my head on the grey wall. The force of his kick also allowed me to rip the tag off of his shirt.

But he didnt notice.

He walked over to me, grabbed me by my collar, and started dragging me. He dragged my limp body out of the room, through the empty police station, and outside. He brought me to the empty alley behind the station and dropped me there. My face slammed against the cold wet asphalt, but I stayed there. I had no energy to move.

The nametag

I still felt the heavy metal name tag in my hand. I pulled out my phone (for some reason they had forgotten to collect it), and turned on my flashlight. My vision was still a little blurry, but after a while I was able to make out the name.

A...r.....a....g...o....s?

Aragos.

The officer was Violet's dad.
