It was their fourth year. Ron got his brothers, Fred and George, to come into the Gryffindor common room.
"Oi! Fred and George, I've heard about that new invention you're working on. It's supposed to shrink someone, right? Can I have one? It's gonna be a prank," Ron asked his brothers.
"It's not finished yet, so no. It wouldn't work if you used it now," Fred replied.
"It just shrinks someone, right? Sounds easy enough. How long will it take?" Ron wondered. He hoped it wouldn't take long. He planned on pranking Harry. After all, he admired his trickster older brothers.
"It'll take us about a month cause we just started making it," George told Ron. Now, Ron is somewhat impatient. No, that's an understatement. He's very impatient.
"Oh. I didn't think it would take that long. Well, thanks mate. Bye," Ron said. What he didn't say was that he had already decided that if they wouldn't give one to him, he'd take one anyway. He knows that they make these sort of things in their room, so he'll just sneak in and get the prototype. Four hours later, it was midnight. Ron figured his brothers had already drifted to sleep, so he snuck over to their room.
Ha! I knew the door would be unlocked. They're a bit forgetful. Now I don't need to use a spell, thought Ron. He had brought his wand with him just in case, but he didn't really need it after all. Ron quietly walked in and looked for the prototype and found it. There were many already, so he figured they wouldn't notice that one was gone. He took it, and began swiftly rushing out and back to his and Harry's room. Haha, I wonder what Harry's reaction to this will be!
