I swam over to the raft, staying under it I tried to push it as good as I could, if I could get him past the reef he would be good!

The waves today weren't all too nice either, pushing from underneath something is hard when you have a huge force crashing into the thing you're pushing. I kept trying though, i was determined.

A few trials and errors I had a moment of calm ocean, I pushed harder, I wasn't even sure what Dimitri was doing but that didn't matter at the moment. Just then I felt a huge wave crash on top of the raft, splitting it in two. I watched the raft sink and Dimitri's body fall into the water. He was unconscious, probably hit his head on the raft. I swam over to him and drug him to a nearby rock. I started to push on his chest until I heard him cough. I quickly dove into the water and to the other side of the rock to watch him.

Dimitri let out a sigh "I'm so stupid for thinking this would work... " he said as he looked around "so what's next world?" He looked up at the sky as he started to climb more onto the rock. I don't know why but I did as well, probably to get a better look.

"What's next?!" He shouted to the sky "more pirates?! Sharks?! Or hey maybe a--" he looked down so quick I couldn't move in time, he sat there staring into my eyes, he didn't speak for a long time until he slowly said "...A...A Mermaid..."

Without a word I quickly slid back into the water and swam away as fast as possible. I didn't even wait to hear whatever he said next.

About thirty minutes later Dimitri stumbled back to the sandy shores of the beach. Makota and I were already there waiting.

"Are you alright?!" Makota exclaimed as she helped him up.

"Yeah... it was dumb of me to think that that raft would have held." Makota looked upset, She was proud of that raft too. Bless her heart.

"But..." he continued as we both looked at him "I saw a Mermaid."

I saw Makota's eyes widen as she looked at me, I gave her the look back to not tell him anything. She looked back at Dimitri "are you sure you didn't just swallow too much water?" She asked. Dimitri shook his head "I know what I saw, she was beautiful..." my face started to flush a pinkish hue as Dimitri started explaining myself to Makota and I.

Dimitri looked back at the water "I wanna see her again..."

Makota started to push him to the forest and to town "you need to lay down, you're talking all silly like."

Dimitri laughed "Makota I know what I saw, why are you surprised?

Makota gave me the look to play along as she started "Well this island only has one mermaid and she never comes to shore or anywhere close to the island.."

"Why not?" He asked curiously

"Well you see, she used to have a family until humans killed her parents and her twin sister.." My heart sank but I was trying to stay calm while she talked about my past.

"Since the incident she doesn't go to the human island or this one... she stays in the middle of the ocean." Makota finished.

Dimitri looked sad "well maybe I could change that..."

Makota sighed "dude you're probably not going to even see her again if you even did see her.."

I gave a small nod "she's right Dimitri.. the chances are slim..."

Dimitri "well I'm optimistic! And when I do see her again I want you two to be with me!" He said

Oh gosh... what have I done...? Not only does he not know that the mermaid is me, but he is also in Love with her-I mean me!

What am I going to do...?
