Seamus POV-
I open my eyes to the too-bright room and squint at my alarm clock. 6 am. I sit up and put my glasses on, running my hands through my blonde hair. I tiredly pull on some jeans and a Mario t-shirt before lacing up my converse. I stretch my legs before going downstairs. My mom looks at me and smiles.
"Hi honey! Have a good day!" She says, eyes gleaming. I smile and nod, grabbing my bag and heading to the bus stop where James waits.
"Hey Sea." He says when I stand next to him.
"Hey James." I say, grinning at him. He returns the grin. A dude our age comes and stands at the bus stop, fiddling with his shirt, glancing up at us every so often. James launches into a conversation about a new video game, not paying the stranger any mind. When he's done I chuckle and nod. James finally takes notice of the stranger.
"Oh hey. You new?" The boy nods quickly, his brown hair covering his eyes before he brushes it out and stares at his feet. James smiles at the boy.
"I'm James, and this is Seamus." The boy looks at me and our eyes lock. I freeze and my stomach flips. I ignore the feeling. I have a girlfriend. Ash.
"I'm... I'm Aleks." He says, his voice laced with a soft Russian accent.
"Are you from Russia?" I ask, fidgeting. Why am I so nervous? He nods, blushing.
"Do you like video games, Aleks?" James says. Aleks' eyes brighten and he smiles.
"Y-yeah! I love them!" He says excitedly.
"Dude, so do we! We should get together and play!" I say, focusing on James instead of the beautiful Russian in front of me. Stopstopstopstop I'm not gay. I like girls. I like boobs and vajayjays. Not the beautiful Russian with the soft brown eyes, amazing hair, and adorable smile. The bus comes and James and Aleks continue talking and making jokes. We get dropped off at the school and Aleks stares at it in awe. I feel almost embarrassed by its massiveness. More of a college than a high school.
"Damn dude." He says, laughing. His laugh is even more adorable than his smile. We walk to out first period, James going to English and me and Aleks going to science together. We make some jokes and laugh all the way to the science class. We sit next to Eddie who grins at me.
"Sup sea!" He says excitedly.
"Hey Eddie." He giggles.
"Oh, Aleks, this is Eddie. One of my other friends." I say, smiling at him. He smiles at Eddie and Eddie launches into a huge conversation on how awesome adventure time is and Aleks gladly joins in.
After English, me and James go to civics, and Aleks and Eddie go to art, where Kevin is too. At lunch we all sit together, Aleks fitting in perfectly to our group. I don't know what's happening, but I think I'm starting to like Aleks. After school Ash comes up to me and kisses me. I don't really want to kiss right now. I don't want to do anything. Still, she forces herself on me.
"Ash, please. I'm not in the mood."
"You're never in the mood, asshole."
"I'm sorry." I say half-heartedly. She notices.
"You know what, we're over Seamus. I'm going to go date someone who cares." She says, spinning around and sashaying away. I walk out to the bus and sit next to Aleks and James.
"Me and Ash broke up." I say. James stifles a smile badly.
"Are you okay, dude." Aleks says, worriedly. But is that hope also?
"Yeah. I was sick of her. So clingy." I say. James smiles.
"Dude, I hated her." He says, patting me on the back. We all go into comfortable silence, and out of the corner of my eye I see Aleks staring at me happily. Could he... Could he like me?
