Of That They Fear

~Chapter Two~ shaken up.

It's been two hours of driving! Lexi's asleep in the back of the van, Zane has his headphones on listening to music, Abby's in her own little world up front while Simons driving, and I'm just sitting and starring out the window watching the scenery go by. We stopped at a red light, I was watching the trees when I see a tall figure standing by a rotting tree. It looked as if it were shadow. It tilted it's head, almost like it was starring at me. I jump at the sound of Simons voice, jolting my head to face him. "Hey man, were almost there." "Y-yeah, okay." I stuttered, when I looked back it was gone, I looked away for a second and it's gone. We continued driving and soon we arrived at the entrance of the woods just as the sun started to go down.
By now everyone was aware of where we were and excited. "I'm excited! Let's go!"
exclaimed Abby, "okay, okay. Calm down!" Chuckled Simon. Simon parked the van beside the dirt road, we all got out and grabbed our bags. I slipped on my backpack and grabbed the cooler.
We started walking the trail, I was lagging back because of the heavy cooler.
The woods was thick, and the trees were tall. I could just see the sun setting, readying to start a new cool summer night. Soon we reach a small open field, the twigs and grass were stomped down to make the surface flat. "Come on! Let's set up the tents!" Hollered Zane, a gleeful smile plastered on his face. "Geez Zane, don't get too bored." I say sarcastically.
"Zane just rolled his eyes and smiled at me. Soon we finished setting up the tents and Simon decided it would be a good idea to make a fire. He sent all of us out on our own little jobs, Zane and Lexi to get wood, he and Abby to get something to start it with sense Zane forgot matches.
And I was stuck watching the stuff.
They all left to venture in the woods, I was sitting in the tent one of our three tents, reading my book with a flashlight when I heard rustling outside the tent. I assumed it was one of the guys coming back with the fire stuff so I didn't pay attention to it and went back to my book. A few minutes later I hear a shriek, I drop my book and quickly open the tent. I shine my light where I thought the shriek was coming from to see a scared Lexi staring at something behind me. I see Zane, Simon, and Abby run up to us not to long after. "Zane! I thought you were with Lexi!" I was kinda shaken up. "I was! But she ran off with some wood to bring it to you!" He said, I look at Lexi's feet to see scattered sticks and logs laying on the ground. I look up at her and see that she's still staring at something. I turn around and I see what she was looking at...
