(Carly's POV)
"What if the world didn't judge? What if there were no laws? What if we could do what ever we wished? What if death was a myth? What if the impossible was possible? What if all these things were real? What if they occur? Because the what ifs of the world are not impossible, it only leaves us to wonder if they they are happening or are in the near future. These what ifs are to never happen. And if they do....well, let's just say the world won't see it coming. For people are the judge, the impossible will stay impossible, and death is inevitable. And while we aren't in control of any of these what ifs....We play the part in carrying out the what ifs if they become real." I say finishing my presentation.
"Wonderful job Carly. This is an amazing piece of writing. Are there any questions for Carly?" Ms. Willow says.
"I do." Mark says standing up. He is one of the smartest kids in the room and one of the most annoying.
I nod for him to continue.
"If these do ever happen in the entire existence of time, then what would they be called?" He asks.
"They wouldn't be called what ifs, they would be call what ares." I kinda sassed.
"I don't see a big difference." He smart talks back.
"Your a smart boy." I started.
"I'm a man." He tried to correct.
"Believe what you will. You know the difference between are and if, right?" I questioned.
"Yes." He simply said.
"So you must know that if means what would or could happen and are means it is happening. So your difference is right there." I continue to sass.
Just then the bell rung. I rush back to my desk and put my books away.
"Ok, we will finish presentations tomorrow, have a good day everyone." The teacher says.
I start to walk to the door when the teacher calls my name. I walk up to her desk a little nervous.
"Is this about Mark? I am so sorry. I just swear that boys life goal is to annoy the living day lights out of me..." I begin to rant but she stops me.
"No it's not." She interrupts.
"Oh." Is all I say.
"I want you to enter in this writing competition for the school. They want me to choose two students to represent the school." She says handing me a flyer.
"Oh cool. Who's the other student?" I ask.
"Mark." She says.
"Ugh." I groan in annoyance.
"I know you don't really get along but it's for the school. So are you interested?" She asked.
"Yes." I said.
"Oh, I'll submit your name to the board and get back to you later this week." She said.
"Ok. Have a good day." I said and walked out.
-Time Skip a Few Days Later-
The bell rings. And like everyone else in the room, we rush to put our things away before pushing and shoving each other to get to our next class. I start to make my way to the door and Ms. Willow calls my name, stopping me from leaving.
"Yes?" I ask.
"The bored has agreed that we want you to represent the school." She said happily.
"Yes, thank you so much. You won't regret your decision." I said kind of jumping up and down in joy.
"You and Mark will be performing the writing piece of your choice together." She said.
