Chapter 8

Simon's POV
I was so scared that Cal was going to leave me when he found out I was hooking up with Abbey, but I'm glad she's out of my life. I don't even know where she has gone, she just left one day and never told me. Mehh I don't care. I have Cal.

I walked out of my room to see Cal sitting on my bed looking down and twiddling with his fingers. "Cal? Babe? Are you okay?" He didn't answer he just looked up at me and a tear rolled down his face. "Cal, why are you crying?" "S-Si, it's m-my mum." "Oh no, is everything okay with her?" "*sniffles* n-no... she has cancer.." "omg Cal. I'm so sorry..." "I don't know what to do Simon! My mum is dying!" He yelled and started crying hard. It's like we can't go one day without one of us crying because of someone personal.

"Shh babe, shh." I told him while hugging him and rocking him slowly back and forth. "She'll be okay. How long?"

"Tomorrow"

"What? She dies tomorrow?" "Yes..." "how long have you known?" "3 months.. I found out when I was Vietnam." "I didn't even realize that you were there for 3 months.." "yeah." "Why didn't you tell anyone? Does Megan know?" "No and I don't know where I can find her." "I do." "You do? Where?" "She works at a Nando's not too far from here." "Oh yeah, I forgot she was working there. How do we know she is still there?" "Do you trust me?" "Of course I do." "Then let's get in the car and drive." "Okay."

*car ride*

Radio~ Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol

Cal's POV
This song is my mum and I's song. "Cal? I can change the channel if you want." "N-no. It's fine, let's just get Megan." "Of course."

*time skip to Nando's*

We parked and got out of the car and started walking to the Nando's where Megan is supposed to be. "Are you sure she's working today?" "Yes I'm sure. When we were together I used to pick her up. I know her hours and days and today is one of them." It was Tuesday at 1:21. "When does she get off work?" "In about 10 minutes." "Let's wait for her by her car." "How do you know what car she drives?" "Simon. She's my sister for god sakes!" "Oh yeah. Lol forgot." "*scoffs* let's just go."

*10 minutes later*

Megan's POV
I looked at the clock to check what time it was.

1:30

God finally! Work is finally done. I've been working extra hours since Simon and I broke up. I wasn't using him for money, but he helped me out since I was living on my own without my parents or Cal. I have been working earlier hours but getting off at the same time. I start work at 5 in the morning and get off at 1 in the afternoon. So 8 hours with only three 20 minute breaks. I was so fucking tired. I just want to go to bed and sleep!

I walked out the door with my black satchel and walked to my car. When I got to my car I noticed two figures by it. Simon and Cal. Why are they here?

"Simon? Cal? What are you both doing here?" "Meg, sis, we need to talk..." he only calls me Meg when it's important. "Cal.. what's wrong?" "Meg, it's mum..." "what's wrong??" My whole family knows my mum has cancer, but she only told our father how long she had to live, because she didn't want it affected Cal's YouTube career and just my life. "Meg, you know how mum has cancer?" "Yeah what about it? Has she told us how long??" I said eager to find out. "Yes. Well she told me when I was living in Vietnam. She didn't tell you because she didn't want to worry you." "Callum, tell me how long mum has to live now." I said in a stern voice.

I noticed a tear roll down his face. Please tell me it's not soon.

"Tomorrow sis. She passes tomorrow.." I dropped my bag and fell to the floor crying into my hands. Cal wrapped his arms around me and I felt another pair of arms. Simon's. "Shh Meg. I know it's sad and I'm sorry for not telling you." "I'm not mad, I just can't believe it! Our mother is going to die tomorrow!" I said while crying into Cal's chest. Simon finally spoke up. "I'm so sorry Megan. I feel terrible for you and Cal. It doesn't help that I was so horrible to you." "N-no Simon. You were perfect, it was me. I'm so sorry, I was the one horrible and Cal, I'm so sorry of how I treated you." "I forgive you sis. Now please let's forget the past and focus on the present." Cal turned over to Simon to ask him a question. "Simon, I can't bare the thought of leaving you, so please Si. Will you come with us to visit our mother before she passes?"

"Oh cal of course I'll come. You know I'd be there with you both!" "Thank you Si. Our father will be absolutely pleased to see you." I said with a big smile.

"Thank you Megan."
