*Niall's POV*

I couldn't hold back my smile as Zayn hugged my mum. He had such a smile on his face, and his eyes were even watering. It was just so cute, and I was proud of my mum for making him feel so loved. She really is the best.

The next day, me and Zayn were back in school, wearing our new clothes. "Hey Ni, if you need somewhere to sit at lunch today, come over to my table." At first I was grateful, because I really don't think Louis, Harry, and Liam were going to let me sit with them. But then I thought about Zayn's friends. Zayn's tough, mean looking friends. I shivered. "Um... what about your friends?" I asked, staring at the floor. "Don't worry about them, if they say a word to you, I'll knock them in the jaw." he smirked. I felt a little better, but still nervous. I guess we'll just have to wait until lunch to see what happens. The bell rang, signaling it was time to get to class. "See ya around mate!" Zayn called, running off with another one of his buddies. I waved to him, then started off to my class.

The hallway was silent, giving me the chills. I felt like someone was following me, but everytime I turned around, no one was there. I had to go upstairs to get to my first class, but when I reached the staircase, Harry was standing there, leaning against the wall with one leg sticking out so I couldn't get past him. I jumped back with gasp, not expecting him to be there. He lifted his head, smirking at me. "Morning Niall, have a nice day at the mall yesterday?" I narrowed my eyes, stepping back as he got closer. "How do you know that?" he laughed, pretending to zip his lips. Suddenly two hands grabbed my shoulders, shoving me into the lockers with a bang. I opened my eyes to see Liam, smirking at me. "Aw, sorry, did I scare ya little bro?" he laughed at his own joke, while I jut stood there, glaring at him. "Get off me Liam!" I yelled, pushing him off. But he just slammed me right back to were I was, only harder this time. "I wouldn't move if I were you." he warned, his voice suddenly serious. I gulped, staring into his eyes. They weren't the soft brown color like when I first met him; they were dark brown, daring for me to talk back to him. They reminded me of Zayn's eyes, on that day when he pushed Liam down the stairs for defending me.

'Alright, alright boys. Don't scare him too much." a familiar voice said, perky and all. "Let him go, Liam." it ordered. Liam smirked, releasing me. When he stepped away, I saw Louis standing there. His hands were in his pockets and he was beaming, his eyes were full of evil. It scared me. I never saw this side of Louis before.

"Niall.. Niall.. Niall.." he said, getting closer to me. "Silly, stupid Niall." I clenched my teeth. How dare he call me stupid. "Fuck off Louis, I'm not in the mood." He put on a fake sad face, jutting out his lower lip. "Aw why? Did Zayn dump you late night?" I felt the blood boiling inside of me, he was asking for it. "We're not dating Louis. Shut your big mouth." He snickered, shrugging his shoulders. "Well obviously not anymore, he dumped you." That's it.

I leaped at him, knocking him off his feet and we both crashed to the ground. "Why are you being such a prick?!" I screamed, pinning him to the tile floor. He throat tightened and I could see the anger in his eyes. I knew I made a big mistake, but at the time, I didn't care. "Answer me Louis!" he didn't reply. But his foot managed to get loose and kick me in the stomach, sending me flying back into the lockers. I sat there for a minute dazed. I hit my head hard, it started to pound.

Louis wasted no time getting up and getting in my face. "You ever do jump on me again, I'll tie you into a pretzel, understand me?" his hand was on my throat, making it hard to breath. I slightly nodded, but he didn't move. "Alright Lou, he gets it." Liam said, pulling him up. Louis pushed his hand off, not taking his eyes off me.

"Watch your back, Horan." he growled, before walking off with his little gang.
