Karl pulled the polenta out of the oven where he melted the cheese on. He arranged the sauteed mushrooms nicely on the polenta and brought it to the counter. He put the wine glasses out and took the bottle of wine out of the fridge. He set out placemats and plates and it was perfect. He lit a two tealights.
He called into the bedroom where Vladimir was working at his desk.
Vladimir stood and walked into the kitchen and smiled.
"You went all out."
"I wanted to make it special."
Vladimir poured the wine. He took a seat at one of the stools, and so did Karl.
Karl gave each of them a large spoonful of polenta with mushrooms and they both dug in. They smiled as they devoured the lovely creation of Karl's.
"You are a fantastic cook," said Vladimir.
"It's a really good recipe."
"You make it well."
"Thanks." Karl smiled a little shyly. "What have you been working on?"
"Oh, just new architectural plans for a house, what have you been working on?"
"There is a skyscraper I am developing. It is being built in Mordor."
"I don't like it much over there."
"This building might change that."
"It is going to be one of the only residential buildings out there."
"Did you design it back in Germany?"
"Yeah I did. Funny story actually. Some Russian guys tried take the plans for it on many separate occasions. No offense to Russians."
"None taken. There are many aspects of my country that I am not, onboard with.
"I can imagine."
"So what happened with them."
"I guess they gave up or whatever."
"Why do you think they wanted it so much."
"Well, I'm not really supposed to say, but it has some technologies that a vague, yet menacing government is testing."
"What kind of technology?"
"I'm not at liberty to say."
"Okay. How did you get wrapped up in all of that?"
"I know some guys."
"Hey do you want more wine?"
"Sure."
Vladimir poured more wine, and the two of them talked their way through dinner, and cleaned up.
"What are you thinking for tonight?" Karl started with casually.
"Oh, I'm not sure." Vladimir said taking a step closer to Karl, who was leaning on the counter.
"Have you been enjoying our date?"
"Well, I don't think is can be classified as a date."
Karl's heart sank a little. "Oh? Why?" He stepped a little closer to Vladimir and now the two were very close. If he leaned farther they would be touching. Karl looked at the man before him. He was only a little taller.
"We haven't gotten to good part-yet." he placed his hands on Karl's chest and felt the shape of his body before moving his hands to Karl's hips. Vladimir pulled the shorter man's body into his as his lips softly touched Karl's.
Karl's hands slipped behind Vladimir and up through his hair and Karl pushed his hips into Vladimirs and kissed him again.
They didn't fight for dominance, Vladimir just took it. Karl turned his head up to Vladimir's and their eyes met. Vladimir took the hem of Karl's shirt and Karl nodded yes. Vladimir slipped the Karl's shirt over his head. Karl saw Vladimir look at his body with an intensity. Vladimir stole another kiss before taking off his own shirt. He pulled Karl towards the couch and push him down onto it. He lay on the other man placing kisses down his neck.
"Vladimir..."
"Yes?"
"Go for it."
Vladimir preceded unbuckle Karl's belt.
