"How wi-ide the sky!" sang Spencer as he sat in chorus. They had been doing warm-ups for about 10 minutes, but Ms. Surden had said it would be a short class for most of them.

"Ok tenors, that's all I have for you. Wish me luck while I go work with the basses." A few of the basses grumbled at this, but most laughed. They all got up and followed her to her office. As Joel left, Spencer noticed a book under his chair. Being the good person that he is, he went to grab it and put it in Joel's bookbag. While doing this, Spencer realized that this book was not a reading book, but in fact a diary of sorts. There was a lock on it, but it had been left open. Spencer felt kind of bad, but he wanted to read it without Joel noticing, so he went to the drama room. He cracked open the book and began reading the first entry.

Dear Diary, I met a guy today. He is a god among men. He is so beautiful. His muscles show straight through his tank top, and it's really hot. His eyes are wonderful. He smells so nice, like cinnamon and fresh pine. When he gave me a hug, I just about melted. He's so...manly. He feels so protective. I think that I really do love him, Diary. That's all I have for now. Hopefully I can sneak another hug! -Joel

Spencer felt weird. Almost...jealous. He didn't know why, because he had Hannah, right? He loved her. Ok, maybe he didn't love her, but she was ok to look at. Spencer decided that he had to know what man had captured his best friend's affection. He flipped pages until he got to the most recent one.

Yo, Diary. Ok that sounds lame but oh well. I'm too busy thinking about...him...to care. You know, HIM? The most attractive guy to ever breathe? I got another hug this morning. He still smells just as good as he did when we met 4 years ago. I can hear him singing as we speak. He's soooo good. Even his name is hot. I know I've never told you who he is, but I feel like I might as well just say his name. I mean, it's not like I have a chance anyway. He's straight and has a girlfriend. Hannah his girlfriend needs to, like, get out. She just doesn't understand that he should be with me. I love him. The man of my dreams: Spence. Spencer Simpson. There, I said it. Ok, Surden's calling us now. Byyyeeee! -Joel

Spencer could not believe his eyes. Had that really just said that? No, this couldn't be his Joel's diary. Er-not...Joel isn't...mine-oh, whatever. Spencer thought. He inspected the front cover, and sure enough, Basenback was written fancifully on the bottom left corner. He clutched the journal close to his chest. Quickly, Spencer pulled out his phone and shot a text to Hannah.

To Hannah: Sorry but we're through. We can't be together anymore

To Spencer: Oh that's fine bc I actually was just gonna ask RJ out

To Hannah: Joel's ex??

To Spencer: Duh.

Ok then. Spencer had not expected that. Hannah is usually an ultra, over the top, super crazy, drama queen. Spencer quietly squealed. If Joel liked him, and he was newly single...

"What do you think you're doing?" Joel demanded, hands on hips. God, he's cute, thought Spencer.

Spencer backed away from Joel, into the practice room. "Uh, I was just-I mean, I, uh..." he trailed off. Joel had stepped into the room and was now leaning against the closed door.

"I can't believe you would do that! That is my personal, private, journal! How much have you read? I don't underst-" Spencer had heard enough. He grabbed Joel's collar and roughly pulled their mouths together. He heard Joel gasp, and then felt him melt into the kiss. He slowly moved his hands down Joel's chest to his hips. Spencer pulled his waist even closer, closing the almost non-existent gap between them completely.

Joel rolled his hips into Spencer's. Spencer moaned and his mouth fell wide open. Joel pushed his tongue into Spencer's mouth. He could taste mint and cinnamon. He felt Spencer slip his hand up his shirt and stroke his washboard abs. Joel let his hand travel down to Spencer's sweatpants and began tugging on the waist band.

Spencer chuckled and kissed Joel's jaw. "I'll take that to mean I'm forgiven?" Joel giggled and then put on a pouty face.

"Yes, but don't touch my book without asking, m'kay?" Spencer smiled.

"Of course not. Now, where were we?" Joel smirked and grabbed his face. He took Spencer's bottom lip in his mouth. Spencer grabbed Joel's butt as Joel jumped and wrapped his legs around Spencer's waist. All of a sudden, there was a knock on the door of the practice room. Mr. Krack was standing outside, smirking. Joel buried his face in Spencer's neck. Spencer turned as red as a beet and carried Joel out of the practice room. "Mr. Krack please, let me explain. It's not what it looks like-ok so it's exactly what it looks like, but you can't- I mean, you don't, I-" Mr. Krack cut off his rambling.

"First of all, I think I've seen enough of...you...for you to call me Dan. Secondly, there's no need to be embarrassed. I had more than my share of gay encounters in my old practice room." he winked. "Actually, that's how I got to know my boyfriend."

Joel's head shot up. "I knew it!" he exclaimed. "Spence, you owe me 20 bucks." Mr. Krack just laughed.

"Have fun boys. But not too much fun! I am not cleaning up any...messes...you make." he walked back to his office. Spencer looked down at Joel's small figure in his arms, shrugged, and walked back into the practice room.
