After Capel's death Chanel moved to Switzerland and started designing hats. she became very commercial and became a licensed hat maker. in 1921 she opened her first boutique on 21 rue Cambon, Paris named "Chanel Modes" Chanel only made hats but she soon became very famous for her creations. a theater actress Gabrielle Dorziant modeled Chanel's hats in a play in 1921
In 1913 Chanel opened a boutique in Deauville financed by Arthur Capel
