"Just ask him." Zayn urged. "No!" Louis said stubbornly. "C'mon, it'd be hilarious!" Zayn laughed across the school yard as they watched Marcel, the whole schools bully target. With dorky glasses and sweater vests his best friend was a book. Louis on the other hand was friends with just about everyone, was captain of the football team, and still looking for a prom date. "Why won't you do it?" Zayn pestered. Louis sighed rolling his eyes. "Because." He said submissively. "Aww, you care about his feelings?" Zayn taunted with a smirk. Louis snorted. "No. First of all I don't like him. Have you seen how he dresses? And second I can't show up to senior prom with HIM." Louis sneered subtly pointing to him. "Mate, everyone's going to know it's a joke so you have nothing to lose." Louis eyed him suspiciously. "Plus it'll be hilarious. You must admit it would be." Louis huffed then smiled. "Fine." He laughed then stood up. "Just don't get turned down. Then you'll look like a loser." Zayn teased. "Please, who would turn down this for one night?" Louis joked gesturing his body. Zayn laughed and Louis turned around and walked across the lot to the table that Marcel was sitting alone at.
He reached out and touched Marcel's shoulder. He jumped slightly, turning to look up at Louis as he adjusted his glasses. "H-ha-hi." He stuttered. "Hi Marcel," Louis said almost dauntingly. "C-can I help you?" He asked quietly. "I was wondering; are you going to prom?" Louis asked overly confident. Marcel looked at him as if he were insane. "Me?" He mumbled. "Well I was wondering if you'd like to go to prom with me." He said smiling down at him. "Me?" He repeated shocked. "Is this some kind of joke or something?" He asked. Louis pursed his lips together. "No. Of course not." He said with a thin smile. "Really?" Marcel asked. "Yup." Louis said half heartily. A smile spread across Marcel's lips. "O-okay then. I'll go with you." "But make sure you look nice." Louis quickly
intervened. "Don't worry." Marcel said still smiling like a child on Christmas morning.
