Counseling
"He doesn't care anymore." I shrugged.
"And why do you feel that he doesn't care?" Mrs.Gilmore asked.
I looked at him, "he use to put the toilet seat down when he's finished, he use to let me know he's leaving or returning, he use to do so many things that he did before that he doesn't do now."
August sat in silence, with still nothing to say ever since I brought up counseling.
Mrs.Gilmore started writing in her notepad then made her eyes on August, "do you have anything to say?"
He shrugged then straightened up, "I did stop doing what I use to do. It's not because I feel any differently about her, it actually has nothing to do with her. It's just so much right now, that I'm stressed & I can't remember to do the things that my woman expect because there's something else on my mind."
"May I ask what else is on your mind?" Mrs.Gilmore asked.
He shook his head, "I wish it was that easy, I think it's just better left unsaid."
"And I get these responses more often too, he use to include me." I said throwing my hand as if I give up.
"Nicki I don't want to involve you in on whats going on around us, I just want this plan to work out soon as possible." He said.
"You obviously still love each other just want some things to go back to the way it was. Well, I have hope in you and I believe you do too. It's just a mini storm heading, it'll come pass. You young lady, be patient with this man and you. Talk to your wife, she deserves to know what you're getting into before it's too late." She said shutting her notepad.
She stood, "come on young ones."
She opened the door, "I expect to see you two next Friday 11am sharp until you two start smiling so hard on that sofa, I'd start to need shades."
I snickered, "yes, thank you for your time."
"That's what you pay me for." She shot back.
"Worth every penny." She added.
Me and August walked out.
After counseling we didn't even speak to each other, we both actually drove in two different cars.
I do have hope but hope hurts...
I just want to let go sometimes.
