We're so addicted to these little screens
We hold them so carefully in our hands
As if they are newborn puppies
So scared to drop them
To let them slip away from our fingertips and crash to ground
So scared to not be connected even for a second
Because then you'll be criticized
Why didn't you answer me they'll say
Interrogating your every move
You didn't post today are you OK they'll ask
As if they are concerned
They couldn't care less
they just don't want to end their longest streak
And you'll have to reply that you dropped your phone
But imagine just try to imagine
if there was a future where we smile when we break our phones
Or when are battery's say critically low
I know crazy right
But maybe that would mean we're one step closer
Closer to becoming human again
