Chapter Two

Lukas POV
I yawned and sat down. I had slept pretty well the past couple of weeks. I looked over towards the mini kitchen we were able to install so we could cook, to see Oliva already up and starting on her pancakes.

I sighed rubbing my eyes then walking back down the hallway to my room to get ready for the day. I slipped my armor on over my daily clothes and went through my daily morning routine. I heard the trapdoor to the tree house open.

I walked out of my room and into the main room to see Jesse had finally came back from her nightly patrol.
"Morning Jesse." I smiled as she turned to look at me.

"Mornin' Lukas. How'd you sleep?" She asked grinning.

"Great. How bout you?"

"Pretty good, I guess.." She sighed. "I'm gonna go get ready. See you guys in a couple minutes."

I nodded and walked over to the nearest seat and sit down. I sighed, closing my eyes and smiling to myself. I could hear Olivia's occasional humming, she always did that when she was in a good mood.

I sighed, it was nice having time to spend at home but it did feel weird not going on adventures. I guess I just got so used to all the portal hopping.

I looked over and saw Petra coming down the hall. "Hey Petra." I said.

She grinned. "Hey Lukas. You ready to start yet another boring old day?" She asked rolling her eyes.

"Aw come on Petra today will be different." Jesse said walking down the hall in her armor.

Petra sighed and shook her head walking to the kitchen. I turned to face Jesse. "You really think that today will be different?" I ask.

She nodded. "I know it will. It's gotta be. And plus all good things are worth waiting for, so even if nothing happens today something's bound to happen soon."

I nodded smiling and headed towards the kitchen. Jesse trailing behind me.

"Pancakes are done. Come get them if you want them I am going out for a bit, I'm heading for a visit to Redstonia." Olivia grinned and walked out from the kitchen, the smell of freshly made pancakes slapping me in the face.

I walked into the kitchen and grabbed some pancakes and poured some syrup on them. I hadn't realized how hungry I was till I took the first bite.

I looked up from my breakfast to see Jesse walk over with a pancake on her plate. She sat down and looked at her food. She poured a small amount of syrup on it and began to eat. I sighed and continued to eat my meal.

Jesse's POV
I wasn't very hungry honestly. I just ate to be nice and stay healthy or as healthy as I could be. The nightmare from the night before just continued to keep coming back to me.

I knew I shouldn't be worrying but it felt so real. I knew Aiden was in New Sky city or.. Land City? Whatever they call it now, but I simply couldn't shake the creepy vibe of the nightmare off.

I swallowed the last bite of my pancakes and walked over cleaning off my plate and setting it in the washer, before walking out and over to the trapdoor opening it.

"Jesse?" I heard Lukas ask walking out of the kitchen and look over towards me, obviously hearing the trap door open. "Where are you going?"

"I'm just heading out for a little walk, you want to come?" I asked.

He nodded and we headed down the ladder. I sighed as I reached the bottom and began walking into the forest, Lukas by my side.

I hope today will be a start of a new adventure.. I hope something changes in our lives today.
