Chapter 1

~Amarni P.O.V~

Yo , What's up homies. My name is Amarni Drew Anderson. I am 3/4 Black {my mum is mixed and my dad is black } - both from Jamaica.I have lightly- tanned skin , a muscular body and a short curly high top, i'm due for a trim anyways.

I am 15 years old - yeah I'm young I know, but i am still THE shit age or no age. It ain't nothing but a number anyways.

I live in a council flat with my mum in Brixton. I'm an only child so my mum gives me all her attention, i'm not a spoilt brat though.We ain't the richest of families, but love keeps us together. Since my father left me and my mum at the age of 3 , my mum has been struggling to keep us alive. She works so hard to put food on our table and I admire her for that. I am the man of the house and I want to help her so much , but everyone just tells me that I am too young. It's just a damn number!

I dream of being wealthy and successful when I grow up and when that happens i'm going to help everyone that helped me along the way, especially my mum.

I basically know everybody on these blocks, but I keep myself to myself, there is no need to get caught up in everybody else's shit. People are always doing dumb sh*t around here and it's best for me to learn from their mistakes so that I don't make any of my own - its best to observe you know.

I go to Kings Arc Academy & I am in year 10 taking my GCSE's . I do English , Maths, Science , Art, P.E, Drama, Music , I.C.T and Business Studies. I'm looking to pass them but that's all looonnngg for man. Don't you feel like school just takes over your life? Sometimes I feel like its a waste of time and other times I enjoy it. Other than that, getting them good grades is whats keeping me here.

In school, my batch is too big, everyone talks about how tight their circle is, but my big oblong shape of friends are just fine. We all have each others back , but I've been distant from them recently. It's not intentional, I just need time to myself.

Anyways enough of me now, I'm going to bed now. Night.
