Love Me Tender. Love Me Pure.

Love: A Prelude

    Love.

    A four letter word; used to describe one of the most profound experiences in life.

    A word that has been lessened in magnitude due to its commonplace usage as a blanket term.

    A word that in our soceity has become synonymous with expressions like lust, covet, like, infatuation, or even passion.

     Love.

    A word that is so complex and yet so straightforward. So multifaceted and yet still simple. A word that alludes most, yet can be found all around them. A word that speaks of selfless acts, of putting another ahead of our own wants and needs.

    A word so pure and untainted, that even purity itself looks blemished in comparison.

     A commitment so strong and so true that not even death itself could break.

     Love is more than the world says it to be.

    

     Which brings us to our story.

     This tale begins like most. A girl, and the boy who loved her.

     Their story begins long before their ideas about love ever became perverted by the world's. Long before any mistakes or regrets. Before losing their wonder in fairy tales. Or their dreams. Long before suffering and angst. Before their world fell apart.

     But, don't worry. This is actually a very felicitous tale. Or at least our protagonists find the felicitous within the sorrow. Or despite the sorrow, I should say.

     Either way, our protagonists recieve their share of a happy ending. Though, it might not nessacarily be a fairy tale one. But, as those who are truly wise know; it is not the end that makes a story, but rather the journey.

     And this journey starts truly begins fifteen years before their journey takes a jolting turn from normalcy.

     When they were both only four years old.
