Chapter One: Love is Innocent

It all started fifteen years ago in a small garden lit by the glow from the fading remnants of day.

Two young children, a boy and a girl, playing happily together. They had not a single care in the world. At this time, life -and love- were simple and sure.

At this point in almost every small childs life, all is filled with wonder and joy. Nothing sorrowful lasts. Because, at this point in time their life is like a garden; watered with dreams and magic, and tended to with love and care.

The sun is made from smiles, and the moon by dreams.

And in this particular garden, and these particular children, they knew nothing of hardships. Nothing of true pain. Nothing of anguish.

In this garden, everything was perfect.

Sounds of laughter and cheer filled the atmosphere. Their parents sat together at a white latticed table laughing pure heartedly with one another, as their children played on the grass plucking up dandelions as they made circlets of wishes; they all made the scene look so picturesque, so wonderful.

Everything was as it should be.

But just because something should be a certain way that doesn't mean that it will be.

That is, unfortunately not how life works. And anyone who says otherwise is either a fool or a liar.

It would be a while until Caden and Olivia fully came to realize this. However, they came upon this rather dreadfully abrupt and rather tragically.

But for now, everything was right in the world. Their world at least.

But let us not dwell on the bad, but let us instead focus on the good in the now.

And at this point in time, something great was about to be conceived in this golden garden. Something that Olivia would not recall until much later. Something that would begin to shape the rest of Caden's life.

For had Caden not payed any mind to the way Olivia looked in the fading light, his life would have been very different. Everyone, not just Caden, has moments like these. Moments that seemed insignificant as the moment occured; however, these small moments -much like a pebble tossed in still water- has monumental impacts on the outcome of the future.

And one small motion, one small glance, one small action is were Caden and Olivia's tale truly begins.

Caden looked up just then, right as the sun's fading light created a golden glow upon Olivia's face. In that moment, surrounded by all the lovely flowers of his mother's garden, Caden  could not think of anything more breathtakingly beautiful. At least that is what his daddy called his mommy right before he would kiss her.

So, that is what he did.

His chubby toddler hands grasped Olivia's cheeks and drew her towards him. Of course given his age, the kiss was more of a rough brush of wet lips . It only lasted a brief second, before Olivia squealed childishly and shoved him away.

"Ewww, Ca'en! I don't want yous cooties! Bleh!" Then Olivia gave a small 'hrmph' before an even tinier giggle escaped her. She then proceeded to run over to her mother to tattle on Caden.

Caden on the other hand scarcely paid any attention as he was still in awe of what just happened. Slowly though, a dazed grin grew upon his lips. He decided right then and there he wanted to marry Olivia, just like his daddy married his mommy.

Now, it may seem impossible to narrow minded people that a boy his age could fall in love this young.

However, we live on a big nlue and green planet suspended by nothing-ness as we spin around a humongous ball of fire.

And they have the audacity to say that a little boy falling in love with a little girl os impossible?

    Ridiculous.

Because, just because something might seem too big for closed minds and closed hearts to imagine, it does not mean that it can't happen.

     Anything is possible.

If one only has the faith and courage to just believe.

Now, I have a question for you dear readers: Do you have the courage to open your heart- and eyes - to imagine a world stemmed from dreams? To believe in the impossible?

     Do you?

~*~

Like a flower's petals, there is little in this world that is more beautiful than a closed heart opening up to face the sky.

So dear reader, do not deprive the world of your beautiful heart.

The world desperately needs your light and love.
