Boooooom!!!
Bang!Bang!!!
BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The feeling of terror and danger is multiplied by the thousands as the impacts of bombs and missiles wreak havoc on my neighbourhood. Although only small faint sounds of gunfire could also be heard, it's still important as the rapid fire gets closer and closer, pounding on my eardrums, accelerating my heartbeat, and rising the fear filled anxiousness in my heart.
The scent of gun fire permeates the deepest parts of my flesh, engraving themselves on my bones, tainting it. Its as if it was a living being, smiling down maliciously on me, as his evil smile takes form, reaching the very corners of his eyes, showing filthy yellow teeth. His ink black skin contrasted to the pupil less white eyes, and his existence itself seems to about to fade, like a shadow. This shadow is becoming more and more vivid, as if feeding off my fear. I only have one conclusion as to what it is.
It is Death, slowly walking towards me, laughing mockingly along the way, enjoying my torment.
Why is this happening? I thought to myself as my Scleras turn a deep shade of pink, and a rain of tears turned to a river and slide down my face.
"uuuuu...WAAAAA"
"Mom! Dad! Waaaaa!"
*Sniff* *sniff* "UUUAAAAAAAA!"
"IM SORRRRRY!"
"PLEASE WAKE UUUUUP!"
**********
I look down, and i'm appalled by the gruesome scene beneath me.
The blood was filling the ground. Spilling over like a dam that just exploded.
It was.... the precious blood of my parents.
It was too sudden. It came too fast. And by the time that i reacted to it. The result was already decided.
The gun firing was getting closer as my family and I run for our lives. Civil war broke out and because my parents were extremely traditional, we didn't leave until things got this bad. They didn't want to leave their homes, the place of their birth, filled with all the wonderful memories. Mom and Dad even fell in love here, they wanted to live their whole lives there. Our neighbourhood turned into the country's one of many war zones, and we were one of millions of fugitive families.
As the person who was shooting fired at their enemy, it strayed into my families fleeing direction.
My father quickly realized this, and moved to protect mom and I. Pity, he was too slow and only managed to protect me, a good portion of the others gave mom a head shot.
The blood was crimson, and when the bullets hit, some of it splattered all over my face, dying my face red, turning me into a monster. A hideous monster. Putrid and cruel...with swelling pink eyes filled with a mortifying sense of helplessness, fright and the extremities of grief. Her head was gone, disappeared like an exploded melon with brain juice everywhere, leaving only a neck and a quivering jaws. Her corpse first kneeled, then fell to the ground with a thud.
Instantly killed.
Dead.
Dad was better, he was shot across the chest but heavily bleeding. It was clear that the bullets had hit his vitals, and he had just a few seconds left.
"ukk....u...ugh...A....As....Asil -mmk"
My father struggles to call me and he tries to sit up. His blood rolled in waves as it poured down his mouth, carrying chunks of internal organs along the way. Staining his already bloody white shirt in a deeper shade of scarlet.
He grabbed my arms and looked at me with pleading eyes, taking occasional glances in mom's direction. They were filled with self blame and sadness, but although it was a simple glint, i saw relief in them, as if some huge burden has been shaken off his shoulders. At the same time, there was resolution, and pleading in the way he looked at me.
As if understanding his meaning like a telepathic communication, i nodded my head heavily, while tears flowed to the ground, my face contorted while i try to hold them back.
*sniff* *sniff*
"I will ....I'LL SURVIVE!"
He smiled at me, as if satisfied by my response he finally closed his eyes in peace.
He died.
I run through, the destroyed buildings as quickly as i could, making sure to avoid the guys with big guns, dust quickly follows behind me like a trail. My destination-
A refugee camp.
I need to get to a place where I could be safe, where I could go and feel that my life is not in danger imminent danger. Then and only then could I decide what to do next.
Hiding in an alleyway, i inched closer to the edge of the red brick wall with my stomach and hands pressed against the rough surface, i looked like i was being body searched as i tilted my head to the left, showing only part of my face, observing the three-man group of rebellion forces. They were surprisingly out in the open, walking down the street as if it was a normal day, completely disregarding the rubble and dead bodies to the side., They walked toward an abandoned house that looked better from the other residencies' apocalyptic appearances and swaggered inside with their weapons as if holding trophies.
Bingggg~~~
It was faint and barely discernible, but I still heard it. To me it was like a trumpet echoing in my ears, alarming me to the point that my whole body uncontrollably shivered. Like a practiced melody I immediately ducked to the floor, interlocking my fingers above my head and crouched onto the floor placing my face on my almost withered knees, it was a pitiful sight. I haven't eaten ever since my parents died two weeks ago, I'm suffering from an empty stomach and exhaustion from being alert all the time, not even getting a good nights sleep. And now after hearing that bell like noise my thoughts turn heywire because it immediately thought that those three men just walked into a trap causing the building to explode.
