"You what?" I asked excited to her gossip.
"Can you keep a secret?" he asked me.
"Of course I can."
"I'm not Allen. I'm Jacob. That's my name in the human world at least."
My eyes got as wide a two hover caps. "You remember your name from the human world. We have to tell the other reapers. They'll be so amazed that a reaper has such a great memory."
"Well, there's one more thing."
"What is it."
"I'm...... not a reaper."
"Holy shit." I started to freak out. "Holy shit."
"Lauren just calm down. I'm not a human either."
That made me feel better but, still. Allen the idiot is not a reaper. Jacob's not a reaper.... Jacob's not a human.... Jacob's not a reaper.... Jacob's not a human.
"What....are you? If you don't mind me asking."
"What?" I could tell I caught him off guard. "Oh, I'm a vampire."
OMG, I can not believe I was in the same room with a vampire. I always wanted to meet one. Who would have guessed I was already friends with one.
"Umm.... can I.... umm.... see your fangs?" I asked with puppy dog eyes.
"My fangs. Umm.... sure." Man, I knew they were sharp but, these feel sharper than knives. "Lauren, you have to promise me you won't say anything. I can't imagine how the other reapers would think of me if they knew I've been lying to them this whole time."
"Lauren, your time is up. Time to go so the next visitor can come in." the nurse said.
"Okay." I turned my head back to Allen. "I'll keep your secret safe.
Before I left he grabbed my arm and mouthed. "Thank you."
