FLASHBACK 3 years before
Jaz's POV:
"Chance can I borrow your hair straightener?"
Chance always let me use her stuff because dad always said that sisters share even if they don't want to.
" Yea sure, dont tell dad but everything hurts again"
Chance has been having pains for a couple months and I really wanna tell dad but I am too afraid that she will be mad at me. She is 15 so she can handle herself but I am worried for her.
A couple weeks later
"Jaz I think I am getting sick, I need an ambulance"
Chance was pale and lifeless and I had never seen her like this before.
" Daddy Chance is sick she needs to go to the hospital!!"
I turn to see Chance on the floor and she said
" Jaz I love you Kingston and dad, if I don't make it tell Carter I love him."
Then she was out and my dad ran up and called an ambulance. When we got to the hospital after hours of waiting the doctor came out and told us that Chance had lung cancer and she needed to be treated now. I had never seen my dad cry that much other then the day after my mom moved away. We got to go visit Chance and she was in her cot laying down sleeping. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen and Carter is very lucky to be her boyfriend. We waited in the hospital until she woke up and she smile the biggest smile when she saw me.
"Jazzy, baby what happened?"
Since we didn't have a mom Chance sort of took that motherly position.
" Chae Chae you have cancer"
I couldn't hold back the tears. I was so young and didn't know what else to do or say other than what I did. Chance was the perfect child, she got good grades was amazing at cheer and dance. She was the captain of cheer and everyone wished they were her, she was popular and pretty and dated the hot jock. Personally I think Carter isn't cute but all of Chae Chae's friends do. Weeks went by and I visited Chance every single day. I missed a lot of school and had to stay back a grade not because I wasn't smart but because i missed so much school to visit Chance. She lost all of her hair but she was still gorgeous. Carter visited as much as he could, until he couldn't do it anymore, he hates seeing her cry and sick and he loved her but he hated seeing her suffer. He was like a brother to me before she got sick but I started seeing him less and less as she started to get sicker. Chance wanted me to tell Carter that she missed him and wished he visited and I tried telling him. But every time I went over Harper's house he wouldn't be there, I saw him but his step mom would always say that he was out with friends or studying and didn't have time to talk, which made me upset that he didn't want to even talk to me or Chance.
The doctor came into the room as I was sleeping, it was about 7 am and I heard the door open and saw the doctor standing there. He looked at me and he looked like he had bad news.
" Jazmyn, Kingston and Jim I need you to go into the waiting room"
I was scared and kissed Chance as she smiled and said " I love you princess"
" I love you too Chance" I replied
Kingston looked at Chance with sad eyes, but smiled when she spoke to Chance
" I love you, and when we see you again will you sing with me?" Chance was a singer too, she sang at school all the time and she sang to Kingston every night before bed.
" Oh course Kin love you"
Dad and Chance said bye and we went to the waiting room, and waited for hours.
" Jim Matthews?"
was all we heard. Dad ran to the voice and didn't come back for 30 minutes. Then me and King were called into the room to find Chance was an angel now and she was in heaven and daddy says she is the prettiest angel in heaven. We cried for weeks and missed her so much. She battled cancer for a year and a half but died when she was only 17. We were all so upset, and my mother didn't even come to her funeral.
(Yes I am aware that Chance is Andrea Russett but just pretend like it's not lol)
