Stiles noticed everything.

Each and every detail jumped out from there place to meet his eyes, there was one place where it was magnified immensely.
His old job at Alan's Diner. To anyone else, a job rushing around taking orders and making coffee would be pretty standard, boring at times. But to stiles it was something special, since he managed to get the job at a mere age of 14, he noticed every detail. Each one becoming more prominent with every shift he took. You may ask.. What details can one notice in a simple (run down) diner, but stiles could go on for hours, telling you about every customer that stepped into the pale blue restaurant.
Like Harry and Betty, the two seniors that arrived before the placed opened everyday, knowing that stiles would let them in despite them being 20 minutes early. To which he would receive the familiar warm grin and pat on the back.
Or the extremely large, tattooed man, that at first scared stiles mildly. However he came to see his true side, like how the the man never failed to arrive at 3:35 every Wednesday with his two little girls. One getting chocolate ice cream, the other vanilla. Stiles' heart would swell as he heard the unmistakable giggles erupting from them. Each one caused by their dad pulling a silly face or pretending to take their ice cream when they looked away.
Or there was the way that every shift, a warm yellow glow of sunlight swarmed through the back window, giving the entire diner a soft hue that calmed stiles instantly. There was one aspect that all of these things had in common.
Familiarity.
Stiles liked what he was used to. Like the worn leather couch in his front room, that squeaked when more than 2 people sat on it.
Or the sleepover that him and Scott had every Friday; Scott would ask his mom every time if he could come over, despite already knowing the answer. But most of all, it was the familiarity of his father.

His father...

The man that set his alarm for 6:45am and only got out of bed at 7:30.
The man who would grimace at the salads and plethora of healthy food stiles made him, yet thank him everyday and smile at him for his efforts.
The man who had a bullet rip through his chest, taking his life almost instantly.

The man who stiles relied on the most...

The man who was no longer here...
