ELISE ABERNATHY CAST AS THE SAPPHIRE SLAYER
Game of Thrones actress Elise Abernathy has officially been cast as Florence Prince, best known as Sapphire Slayer, the fierce teenage sidekick and the cousin of Diana Prince in Wonder Woman and the Teen Titans comics.
IGN has the scoop on the casting. The possible inclusion of Sapphire Slayer in the film has been one of the most buzzed about aspects of the hugely anticipated DC Comics/Warner Bros. project.
"Sapphire Slayer is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favourite in the DC Universe," Zack Snyder commented of the casting. "Not only is Elise an amazing young actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Elise in the first film incarnation of this beloved character."
The south London actress debuted as Debbie in the West End musical Billy Elliot (along with Tom Holland, rival Marvel star), but got her big break as Ashara Tyrell in the critically acclaimed Game of Thrones.
Catch Sapphire Slayer's first big screen debut in Justice League released worldwide on November 16th, 2017.
