Chapter 1
"Honey! Bring me that box please!" Carol yells across the room.

"One minute babe! I need to bring in this couch first!" John yells back

"Whatever! I'll do it myself!" Carol yells angrily.

I don't know why he doesn't get the couch later. He knows we have to unpack first. We made a deal that he helps me unpack, than he can do the furniture. Well, he can get the couch than he can come help me. I suppose after the packing we might want a break and want to sit down.

"Honey? Why don't we go see some of our naibours and let them know that we are-" carol is interrupted by the doorbell she gets a nervous feeling in her stomach, like she knows who is our there, but she doesn't.

John can go get it, carol thought. He can get the door and I can unpack some more. Oh how thirsty I am. I've been working so hard and haven't even gotten a drink.

"Babe? Someone wants to see you." I hear John tell me as he walks into the living room where I am unpacking.

"Well, one minute than." I say back. Probably just a naibour who wants to say hi, not someone you know, calm down.

She goes to the door and gets hit with a big surprise! It's one of the two people who she was hoping that she didn't have to see for a while. She felt, uneasy. Oh! My stomachs can tell who this person is.

"Hello darling!" A smooth booming voice says.

"Hello father!" She says with so much  enthusiasm that she bets her father will take it quite amusing.

She lived with her parents for as long as she could stand it. Her parents were very, what's the word, private. They never went shopping, they had a maid, they never came to any of her sports team try outs or games, and  they had black curtains on all the windows which was pretty scary for a kid. She thought they were murderers or something. Well, when she was 16 she left home in hopes to find a place of her own. She found a place in Florida along the beach. She lived there for one and a half years. One day a few days after her 18th birthday, she couldn't go outside. The sun burned her and all she could smell was, blood. She couldn't handle the smell and didn't know how to protect herself from the sun so she stayed inside and had a few black curtains brought to her house and a few sacks or blood.

"Father, what are you doing here? How did you find me?" She almost started to cry

"Well it isn't hard to find our kind, darling. You of all people should know that."

"Well? What do you want? You want something or else you wouldn't be here."

"I want you to come home."

No! This can't be! She will not go home! She will not go home and live that dreadful life again!

"No! I will not go home with you! I've had enough of the loneliness and the darkness of that house! I'm staying here!"

And with that she closed the door and walked away. When she was in the living room again with John they started to unpack.

"Who were you yelling at, carol? Was it your parents?"

"Yes and I'm not going home! Not with them. I'm staying here."

"Well, I could come with you and stay with you and your family if you want."

"No that's fine. We're staying here."

And with that they unpacked and brought in the furniture without a single word about it.
