Chapter Nine

That night I couldn't sleep. Grace slept on one of the top bunks while me and Maddy slept on the bottom. I haven't seen my sister since she was ten. My sister's twenty. I missed ten whole years of her life! Suddenly I heard a scraping sound. It was coming from the door!

"Bailee. Can you hear me?" It was Angelina!

"Yes. Can you open the door?" I replied.

"Stay where you are. I'm gonna teleport in." Chris was there as well! The next thing I knew Chris was standing inside the room.

"Wake your friends. We're leaving." I woke Maddy and Grace, and they clambered off their beds to meet Chris. I explained the situation.

"I can only take two of you at once."

"Then take them." He took my friends hands and disappeared. It was then I heard the ear piercing scream. The door burst open and soldiers burst in. I could see Angelina on the floor, her mouth open in despair as blood poured from the wound on her stomach. Her hand reached out to me and then she was still. I ran towards her but some guards held me back.

"Bailee, I'm ready. I'll grab Angelina and we can go." Chris reappeared In the corner and saw the men. He also saw Angelina, and tried to hide his grief. A woman entered through the open door, carefully walking around Angelina in her black stilettos.

"Hello Chris. It's okay, we won't hurt you. But we need a small favour. You need to give back the two girls who you just took back to us.”

"No way!"

"Then I guess we will have to come to an agreement. You give them back, or we'll kill Bailee." He looked at me in fear. One of the guards pulled a knife and put it to my stomach.

"Don't do it. Leave me. Give August back his daughter and tell him the answer to his question is Eterna. And tell my sister I love her and-"

"Shut up!" The woman slapped me and I felt blood trickle down my cheek. Chris nodded gravely and a tear fell from his eyes. I smiled grimly.

"I'll say hi to Angelina for you."

"Be QUIET!" Confused, he looked to where Angelina lay. He understood. Chris darted to the side, grabbed Angelina's lifeless body and disappeared. The lady screamed in rage. And gave the 'kill' sign to the guard with the weapon. The knife didn't hurt. I could see blood drip from my wound but I didn't feel a thing. I collapsed to the floor as my body began to shut down. I closed my eyes for the very last time.
