I ran down the hall aware of the time, since I spent enough of it already. I pasted the kitchen, where Dad sat on a stool on the counter drinking his coffee and eating a bagel.

I was so close to the door until Dad stoped me by calling me over. "Dear come over and have breakfast with me".

Waddling back, I pulled a stool across from my dad and slumped in my seat. "Yes your magisty," I groaned.

"Hon'  it is not like that, I was just the elected mayor of this yea-". "And every other year," I spat.

My dad took a deep breath and responded, "Why don't you grab sonething to eat?" He reached over to grab a pear. "No," I stoped him half way to the fruit bowl.

I stood up and grabed my bag which I'd placed on the floor and swung it around my shoulder, "See you at dinner". I walked out of the kichen not waiting for a response. At the last moment before I headed out my dad said, "I love you hon' ... just remember that for me". I looked back and saw Dad had gotten up and was now standing a few feet from me.

From the bottom of my heart I responded, "I love you too Dad". He smiled and I walked out.
