"Aw come on Ren," Tate complained, running a hand through her nearly - white hair. "We won't even be gone that long."
"1 hour. Tops," Rouge agreed. Her eyes that held the stormiest seas met mine, a devilish smile played on her lips.
I turned my head to look at each of them in turn. My closest friends for as long as anyone could remember (+ Lil, who was unable to attend tonight). I knew they meant well, but good intentions can lead to nasty results.
"But..." I stammered. "It's morally incorrect!"
Rouge looked at me with disgust. "Ren. You think I have morals?"
I laughed. "Ok ok. But I do. And I think it's wrong."
"Then stay here," Tate was already pulling on her boots. "We're not gonna force you to come."
"Just encourage it," Rouge finished, reaching for her jacket.
"You think I'm gonna let you wander out there alone? You don't even know where you're going!"
"Perfect," Tate grinned. She looked like she was ready to go at a moment's notice.
"You're insane. You know that right?" I shook my head in exasperation, but I was already starting to cave.
"Yup," Rouge stepped onto the wooden ledge that ran around the basement.
"Well I'm not letting you go alone. Let me grab a sweatshirt," I pivoted towards my room.
"Holy shit you're actually coming with us?" Tate's face brightened immensely.
"Hey," I called over my shoulder. "If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em."
I ran to my room, my heart beating wildly. I frantically whipped through my closet, pulling on my favorite sweatshirt. It was soft and gray, with the word "HUFFLEPUFF" emblazoned on the front.
"You guys are too quiet," I hissed, emerging from my room. Tate was already out the open window, Rouge perched on the ledge.
"C'mon slowpoke," Tate hissed. Rouge stepped through the window.
I put one foot on the ledge. Was I actually doing this?
Rouge held out her hand to me.
"C'mon."
I paused. This wasn't exactly in my comfort zone.
"It'll be ok," Rouge said, noticing my expression. "We'll be back within the hour. I promise."
I took her hand.
And shut the window.

We ungracefully hopped across the lawn, doing our best to avoid the crunch of the frozen snow. Once our feet were on the street, we bolted. Our feet pounded on the pavement, faster and faster until...
We flew.
Oh, silly me. Did I forget to mention we were angles?
----------
Angles. A bit hard to wrap your mind around but allow me to attempt to explain.
