Chapter 11:Dani's Decision

This was a very hard decision. I could have everything I want, but I would end up becoming the enemy to my family. Or if I were to say I'm happy with where I am at in my life, my family will love me forever, but then I'd be pissing off Sirena and her clan. And I can see in their eyes that they want me to be with them as they said a few days ago. My mind is going through the scenarios but then Sirena said, 'You have 60 seconds. If you don't choose, I will force an answer out of you.' That doesn't give me much time to answer! UGH. I remember hearing the ship creator's words echo to me again and he said, 'No matter what happens, don't surrender.' Okay but I'm 16 and, at some point I need to become my own person. I love my family with all my heart but, I want to become who I always wanted to be. The reaction I got from Sirena and her daughters seemed to be great. I honestly feel I'm gonna regret this either way.

Sirena then came to me and decided to mix it up. She showed me a crystal blue pendant which was like a family heirloom. She then said, 'Wear this, you'll be with us forever. As I said, you'll get everything you ever wanted and I will make sure that merman marries you and stays with you forever even if it kills him. If you destroy this, then it shows you're not interested. To sweeten things for you, I will not request any help in our battle. You have 5 minutes this time. Make a decision.'

This officially became the hardest decision of my life. I mean am I gonna really turn my back on my family? But, these girls attacked Elli. Elli's my best friend and, I'm pissed off. One of the daughters said, 'Before you ask, we healed her telepathically and she's back to normal. We're that powerful. You have similar power to us, we could use your help badly.' This is very tempting and I broke down.

*Before I knew, I heard Amy swimming out of nowhere to me in a bolt of lighting and she stopped me saying, 'DANI WAIT!* I said, 'OMG AMY!? TY! I WAS CONFUSED!' She then added, 'Listen, go with what your heart says. Just promise me to not hurt me or the family.' That was the concern I had, hurting my family. I said, 'I promise.' then I turned to Sirena saying, 'Empress, get a 2nd pendant.' Amy dumbfounded said, 'What you doing? What is this?' Sirena added, 'Okay suit yourself.' She returned with the same necklace and handed it to Amy and gave the same instructions to me. We looked at each other saying, 'Promise not to hurt our family?' We nodded

And we donned the necklaces. I said to Sirena, 'Amy gets the same benefits as I do right?' She said, 'Yep.' Her daughters went from angst-ridden to happy that we made our choice.

*SOMETIME LATER*

We were tempted to working for Empress Sirena and indeed we are part of her clan now. I guess this means we're now her 5th and 6th daughters. Amy said, 'Think we made the right choice sis?' I said, 'Yes.' We heard the ship creator returned and he was disappointed saying, 'Well, I guess if your heart tells you this is the way to go, I won't stop you. But thanks again for restoring my ship to its former glory. Farewell.' He vanished never to be heard from again. Sirena said to us (Me & Amy), 'You do know that you're thieves now right? jk. LOL Well welcome to the family.' We nodded and said, 'Thank you.'

It felt good being someone I always wanted to be. But this choice was agonizing. What it came down to for me was the fact that I promised Amy not to hurt our family. I was willing to do this if they would be safe. Amy shared the same reason albeit she was LATE TO KNOW. It is what it is.

Sirena said to us, 'I guess Siren and Striker are here to stay then?' Amy said, 'Just call us Danielle & Amy please? We are musicians afterall--' Sirena said, 'WAIT! MUSICIANS?! OMG WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO BEFORE??? GET BACK UP THERE AND GO LIVE YOUR DREAM DAMMIT! YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE THEN! WE'LL JUST BE HOLDING YOU BACK!' That shook me. She then added, 'You're welcome back here anytime after your career is over.' We said thanks and we headed off. A few minutes later I stopped and said, 'Amy, go on without me.' Amy said, 'Why?' I said, 'Reasons, just go.' The disappointment in Amy's body language showed as the necklace disappeared on her and she headed back up to land. I returned to Sirena.

I said, 'Sirena, I'm staying for now.' She said, 'Oh?' I then said, 'Just promise not to attack my family okay?' Sirena then said, 'We promise.'

Then I'll stay

Forever :)

Yeet.

Sirena smiled as did her daughters.
