I don't think people realize how scared this generation is of commitment.
We only see the results of years of hurt and pain. This state we are in now is a product
of years of our mothers telling us to be careful
and decades of our fathers telling us that the heartbreak won't last forever.
And because humans move in extremes,
our generation figures that all of that love
isn't worth the pain.
And we forgo commitment for something much more shallow and unfulfilling.
It's just a defense mechanism.
We still want love.
