It's been exactly a year since I put this story on completed, wow. It's always weird to look back at things, but this one is a cute one, to me. But anyway, since it's Valentine's day today, I decided to do a bonus one shot! It probably sucks, but I had a little bit of inspiration. I hope you enjoy either way xx
February 14th, a year later
Today marked the year in the relationship. Because yes, the date had finished with them agreeing to be boyfriends. And yes, agreed. As in, nobody really asked, they kind of just worked it out that way. But, Michael did want more dates and Luke was more than happy to agree.
Which eventually brought them to today, a year after the revelation and cute date with lilac roses and movies.
It had been a pretty quiet day for the both, waking up together in bed, some lazy cuddling, slow breakfast, more lazy cuddling. There hadn't been said much, just Luke proposing they had a date again that evening and Michael agreeing.
Luke hadn't planned much special, basically something like their very first date, just to be cheesy. And he knew Michael wouldn't mind, because if one thing hadn't changed about him, it was how he loved things to be easy and relaxed. Including dates.
Thus, that evening, Luke decided to be very cheesy and even add in a letter, leaving it on the bed after he had gotten dressed. Michael had just stepped into the shower in their ensuite bathroom at that time, so it gave Luke more than enough time to prepare.
The blonde was quick to end up downstairs, moving things around and taking out things he had gotten to make today as cheesy as possible. He just really loved being cheesy. But only for Michael.
When the bleached blonde stepped out of the bathroom, he was slightly bummed, pouting and going to look for underwear. He had secretly hoped Luke had planned something sexy and that he would find the blonde on their bed, but nope. Just himself and a letter.
After pulling on his underwear, he ruffled his hair a little with the towel while taking the letter. He smiled as he remembered how he had found very similar letters last year, leading him to have a Valentine and a great Valentine's day.
Michael moved back into the bathroom to hang away his towel, letting his eyes scan the first two words.
Dear Michael,
And oh God, now he definitely remembered last year and all these butterflies started swarming his stomach again. It was almost as if he was back in his spot, standing at the front door and finding that last letter. The one that revealed his secret admirer and left him conflicted, before he basically stumbled into Luke and well, we all know where that ended.
I love you.
I just had to start with that, even if I've said it thousands of times before. I feel like it has even more meaning (if possible) today. And I want to be cheesy. You know I'm always cheesy for you.
Michael laughed quietly, ending up sitting on the edge of the bathtub, happily continuing with the letter.
Now, even though we've been in a band together now for what, 5 years? I still suck with words. Especially when trying to be romantic.
But, let me get to the point.
Today is a special day for us and I want you to have the best day once again (even if I want that for you any day). That's also why I planned us something, of course.
