I silently closed the door and ran over to Jasmine.
"JASMINE" I whispered loudly. She snapped her head up quickly and tried to hide the gun like I didn't already see it. "What are you doing with that gun? Where the hell did you get that from?" I asked her.
She was crying. Something must have really been bothering her. I ain't never seen her act this way before. Not even cry.
"Carmen, I got into some trouble" she said, sniffing and wiping her nose. "With some drug and money and motherfuckers talking about killing me if I don't pay what I owe".
I was confused. Jasmine had money. That's what me and her did. We made paper no matter what. We never struggled for anything. So how the hell was she in trouble over some money?
"Explain to me what's going on Jasmine. You know I'm here for you" I said.
"Okay, so a couple of weeks ago, I met a dude one night who offered me a job. He said it would pay me a lot of money, and that I wouldn't have to do this shit no more. So I told him I was interested. He told me that all I had to do was sell some drugs for him and I agreed." she explained.
"So what does that have to do with you owing somebody money Jasmine" I asked. I was getting really irritated.
"I agreed and I thought that it would be a good idea to do both jobs, you know, sell drugs and fuck. I thought it would be a good idea to sell them to the people I fucked, but one day some nigga just took all my shit, threw me out his fucking car, and drove off without paying for anything."
"Oh my God are you serious right now? What's your problem? We already doing something that could put us in danger, and you wanna add on to that? Jasmine, you need to think before you do shit" I told her.
"Carmen, I know that. But I'm just so scared now. I don't know what to do."
"So you think all this is worth killing yourself for? Stop being stupid. How much you owe him?" I asked. I was wondering why she didn't have the money.
"He told me I owe him $7,000" she said looking ashamed.
"And why don't you have $7,000" I asked her, because to us, that was a little over chump change.
"I bought this gun, because I didn't feel like it was fair for me to die over some drug shit" she said.
"How much you got left?" I asked her.
"$3,000".
"Okay bitch, I'll give you the rest. And stay out of that shit. Why is it that I have to act like the oldest one around here" I said. I ain't have no kids. What the fuck was she thinking anyway?

"What you on tonight Carmen" Tay asked. It was about a week after the incident with Jasmine and the gun. She ended up paying the dude what she owed him and told him she didn't think that was the right job for her.
"I'm not doing nothing tonight" I told him. I was stressed out for some reason. I wasn't in the mood to do anything. I wasn't even going to go to work tonight.
"Come out with me then" he said.
"What you trying to get into now?"
"There is a kickback tonight a block away from my house. And you coming with me. You need to get out the damn house" he said.
It was true, I needed some air. I hadn't left the house since that stuff with Jasmine. I did go to work at night when she was sleeping. I told her maybe she needed a rest from work for a couple of days. So she stayed in.
"Whose kickback is it, Tay?" I asked.
"Damn bitch does it matter??? Just be at my house at 7:00pm okay"?
"HHHHAAAA whatever dude" I laughed and hung up. I knew he had to be up to something. I heard it in his voice.
When we got off the phone, I got a text message from Raheem.
Raheem: Hey
Me: Hey
Raheem: Wussupp stranger, why you don't text me
Me: Texting work both ways shorty
Raheem: What you doing tonight doee
Me: I'm going out wit Tay
Raheem: Y'all coming to my kickback?

Tay was going to get choked.
Raheem: Yeah I guess so. So you comin baby?
Me: I aint yo baby shorty chill
Raheem: Yet
Me: LOL whatever
Raheem: Look sexy for me baby
I didn't reply back. But I did do what he said. I went straight to my closet. I decided I was going to wear some black yoga pants, with a crop top long sleeve shirt, and my oreo Jordan's. I did my make up as a natural look, not too much, but something that stood out, and I curled my hair. I was ready to be seen. I was ready for Raheem. I just wanted to really get out of this house and have some fun.
