Those eyes.
Those gorgeous chocolate eyes. I stared at him and he stared right back. My face reddened under under his intense gaze. "I'm Kyndell," I managed to choke out.
"Sam," He replied, slowly stretching his hand out.
My brain went blank for about three seconds. I looked at his upturned palm, wondering what it might feel like. I finally snapped out of my daze and slipped my hand into his. Sparks jumped from my fingertips the second we touched. Litterally, I felt tingles spreading like a wildfire through my veins. Such an odd feeling.
"I see you've met Sam," Kian spoke up from behind me, making me jump suspiciously, ripping my hand from Sam's.
"Yeah," Kian looked back and forth between Sam and I for a few seconds. "Do you know where Katheraine went?" I said, looking for an escape.
"She's upstairs with Trevor," Kian told me, still glancing at Sam.
I tried to turn and walk gracefully away, but being the clumsy disgrace to society that I am, I rammed my knee into a wooden table and fell on my ass. I heard laughter behind me. Sticking up my thumb to show that I was fine, I rushed upstairs.
It didn't take a rocket scientist to find Trevor and Kat. The loud singing coming from Trevor's room was hard to miss. I lightly tapped on the door before walking in. "Hey Kyn! We were just singing! Wanna join?"
I looked at Trevor and then back at Katheraine. "Uhhh...."
The only people I'd ever sang in front of were my grandparents and Katheraine. It wasn't that I didn't like performing, but the thought of everyone laughing at me was traumatizing.
"Come on Kyndell! Trevor, you should hear her voice! Oh my god, she is such an amazing singer!" I knew once Trevor knew I sang there was no way he was letting it go. I sighed and pulled a chair beside where Trevor's Apple laptop sat.
Katheraine and Trevor whooped as I made myself comfortable. This Love by Maroon5 came on and I couldn't help but rock out to it. I may or may not have incorporated a few head bobs.
Halfway through the song Trevor grabbed a pillow and started smacking Katheraine and I. This of course resulted in a huge pillow fight. A minute later, Kat and I had cornered Trevor.
The song Classic by MKTO came on and I dropped my pillow. As my ears comprehended the first few notes my heart popped out of my chest and a smile made its way across my face.
I, Kyndell Wright, was having fun. It seemed impossible that I was jamming out to karaoke in a foreign place with Katheraine and a random guy.
Were pigs flying yet?
SAM'S P.O.V.
I was frozen in place, shivers still running down my spine.
"What was that all about?" Kian asked, referring to my odd behavior.
Kyndell. Her name was Kyndell.
It was perfect."I'll tell you when I figure out,"
She literally walked right through my head and refused to leave. Kian seemed to understand something I didn't. His face broke into a huge grin, "Oh my God! You like Kyndell!" He winked and punched my arm. My usual rosy cheeks turned rosier.
"I just met her. She probably has a boyfriend," My shoulders slumped without my consent.
"You'll never know unless you ask, bruh," Kian said, raising his eyebrows.
I thought about that. Kian was usually right. "Thanks man," I turned around and headed upstairs to find Kyndell.
"Feel free to call me Dr. Phil from now on!" Kian yelled behind me. I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see me.
I walked down the hallway and quickly stopped as I passed Trevor's bedroom. Loud voices singing were coming from the open door. A voice stuck out from the group. It had to be Kyndell.
Her voice was perfect, flawless. It was beautiful, like a million tiny angels singing in my ear. The pitch was perfect. Not too high, not too low. She was singing Classic by MKTO, and every note was better then the radio version. I closed my eyes and let the melody sink in.
Standing in the doorway, I peeked over at Kyndell every few seconds. When the song finished the three burst out laughing. I started to clap, making my presence known. Kyndell turned around, her mouth forming an 'o' shape.
KYNDELL'S P.O.V.
Sam.
He's right there.
"How long were you standing there?" I asked with wide eyes. For some reason I felt as if I'd just committed a crime.
"Long enough." He smiled and I couldn't help but smile back. Something about his smile made me relax.
"Have you ever played Call Of Duty?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This made our second hour straight sitting in front of Sam's TV playing C.O.D.
Sam was a super good sport while I was unknowingly over competitive. I always get really angry when I play these kinds of games, especially if I'm online with other people. Basically, the entire time we played I yelled at the tv screen while Sam laughed at me. I kept getting blown up by some kid with a bunch of grenades.
After the seventh time watching myself explode, I threw my control down. "I give up!" Sam laughed harder while I pouted.
After we had settled down a bit, Sam turned the xBox off. "So Kyndell, does your boyfriend play video games with you?"
He seemed really nervous, so I answered with a straight face: "Boyfriend? I'm lesbian," His face fell and he looked flustered and upset, stuttering an apology.
I couldn't take it any longer and burst out laughing. "I'm kidding! I don't have a boyfriend!" We both ended up holding our sides laughing.
"Oh my god! I felt so stupid!" Sam yelled, trying to look mad but failing miserably.
"You should have seen your-" My phone went off with a new text. I looked at the message and felt the color drain from my face. This wasn't supposed to happen. Not again.
No.
Sam noticed and stopped laughing, "What's wrong?"
I rushed to my feet, grabbing my phone. "Nothing. I've got to go," Without another word, I fled the building.
Once I ran home, I locked myself in the bathroom and re-read the message.
You thought you could run Kyndell?
You can't get away from me babe.
A/N Well, thats that. The next part will pick up from where I ended. I hope you liked it :)
