I scream in frustration. Kai comes rushing in, a look of concern on her face. I don't want to seem like I was sad, so I smiled at her. She doesn't believe me.
"Leo what's wrong?" She says, sitting on the bed beside me.
"Nothing I'm fine Kai" I mumble, pulling my knees to my chest.
"No you're not. Stop lying" ugh I hate having a twin. They always know when something is wrong.
"There's this boy" her head perks up at 'boy', causing me to chuckle. "His name is Ashton and he's from Australia. I don't know how long he's lived here, but he's new. He has this amazing caramel colored curly hair. And perfect hazel eyes. When he smiles, which is often, he has the cutest dimples in his cheeks." I smile, remembering the way his eyes lit up when I told him I'm Hawaiian. "His laugh sounds like a sweet symphony, and it's insanely contagious-" Kai holds up a finger to cut me off.
"Seems like you really like this boy" she mumbles, tapping her finger on her chin thoughtfully. "Did you get his number?"
"Shit I forgot to text him! I promised I would oh my god" I mentally slap myself as I pull my phone out of my back pocket, typing as fast as I can.
Leolani oh my god I'm so sorry I forgot to text you! I had to eat and do chores and ugh!
I stare at my screen, waiting for him to start typing.
"Sooooo" my sister snaps under my nose, catching my attention.
"So what?" I say, glaring at her.
"Why were to screaming?" She says, and I soften my features.
"Because I'm not supposed be a nice person, and I'm not supposed to have friends. I don't want to like him but I know I do" I explain, wanting to scream my head off again.
"Ooooh" is all she says
My phone vibrates and we both snap our heads towards the screen.
Ashton It's fine I was just worried you didn't get home. Are you alright?
"What's up with him making sure you're okay?" Kai says, her eyebrows furrowed.
"He met Alex" I say, not elaborating because she understands.
"Oh. Are you alright? Did he do anything?" She says, concerning lacing her voice.
"Yeah I'm fine he didn't do anything" I say, mentally rolling my eyes. Why does everyone care so much?
"Alriiight" She says, rolling her eyes.
I begin typing, and Kai leans over my shoulder, reading everything I write.
Leolani Yes I'm fine jeez
"You don't have to be so rude sheesh" She mumbles more to herself than to me. I just roll my eyes as he begins typing again.
Ashton Don't get an attitude with me young lady
Leolani Okay dad
Kai bursts out laughing, clutching her stomach. I smile, tilt my head and furrow my eyebrows.
"What?" I say, giggling a bit at her reaction.
"Nothing, nothing. Just the way you so simply responded to that." She explains, only further confusing me.
"Whatever nerd" I say, looking back down at my phone, which had just vibrated.

"Ooo Leo's got a date!" Kai screeches, sprinting out of my room. My eyes widen and I chase after her, my heart racing. If my parents find out I like a boy they'll never stop teasing me about it and they'll always ask when they can meet him.
"KAI GET BACK HERE!" I yell, trying to catch up to her before she can get to our parents' room. Too late.
"Mom, Dad, Leo's hanging out with a b-" I cover her mouth with my hand, and drag her out of their room, closing the door.
"What the hell? Kai?!" I whisper-shout, anger boiling inside me.
"It's just a joke chill the frick out" She grumbles. She is completely against cursing.
