Kinkajou awoke to a small green and pink-white SeaWing guard gently shaking her wing. "It's the middle of the night." she grumbled. "Well I'm sorry," the guard said with a hint of sarcasm, "but I thought you might want to know your daughter's eggs are hatching. "WHAT!?!" Kinkajou was suddenly jerked awake as if she had been stabbed, "Turtle, wake up!" she said before noticing he was already awake. As they began to rush out, Kinkajou turned to the guard and said, "Thank you." The guard only nodded in a way that seemed to say "Your welcome," before dashing alongside Turtle through the dark halls of the SeaWing palace where they had decided to have their eggs hatch.
Kinkajou's scales must have flashed a million different colors for joy, fear, and even some sadness for the coming dragonets. She looked over at Turtle, he looked almost haunted and was whispering quietly to himself. As they reached the door to he room that had been made into a hatchery for their two eggs, they glanced at each other with a look that said more than words could before pushing open the large double doors to the hatchery.
Their two, multicolored, eggs sat in their nests, cracking and shaking from the hatching dragonets inside. A deep blue guard stood beside the nests, ready to protect the princesses inside from any harm. My daughters are going to be princesses. Kinkajou realized. Since Turtle, their father, was a SeaWing prince her dragonets would be two of many competitors for the SeaWing throne. The eggs burst at nearly the exact same momenta and two dragonets, one blue and one purple, fell out into their nests. and Kinkajou both sat to scoop a dragonet into their talons. "Beautiful dragonets like these deserve beautiful names," Turtle said, "how about Calypso for this blue one?" he suggested referring to the cerulean blue dragonet in his talons. Kinkajou nodded in agreement, "Yucca would be a good name for her." Kinkajou said gazing lovingly at the purple dragonet, then Calypso, then Turtle, an that was all that really happened for a long time.
