The Great Beast (a zodiac book)

Victory

Leo coughed up blood and turned the clear water into a light red. The beast seemed to smirk at the sight of his battered body. Aries was trying his best to keep fighting but his leg was twisted and his dominant hand was sprained, so he stood there uselessly.

Scorpio was under the beast's massive paw, struggling and letting out a cry from the massive weight on his chest, but it wasn't killing him, why? You shall all die slowly, starting with this weakling. It hissed. It put a little bit more weight, Leo felt his heart skip a beat as he heard a painful crack.

Scorpio screamed in pain and clawed at the beast's paw, desperate to get out. Tears were rolling down his eyes, he never cried, but this, this was beyond hurting, this was excruciating. Leo looked at Scorpio, trying to hold in his pained screams

"Get off of him!" Leo drew his spare sword and raised it. The beast snorted, the sword was like a took pick compared to it. Leo began to sprint towards Scorpio. The beast seemed to sigh, thinking that all he could do was scratch him.

Leo let out a war cry and swung the sword across the beast's paw. The beast roared in pain but kept his hand on Scorpio, slowly clenching. Scorpio was having trouble breathing, he could hear his bones breaking one by one, a white light streaked past his eyes, he was so close to passing out.

Leo swung it even harder, issuing as much strength as he could. The sword broke through the skin and dug into the muscle. He did it once more, the muscle being more tender then the outer skin easily ripped in half and the sword cleanly went through the rest of the beast's paw.

Blood spurted from the wound and splashed Leo in the face. The black blood tainted his golden hair, making it appear black. The beast groaned at the loss of its limb and hopped a step back to recover.

Leo lifted the paw off Scorpio and winced at his broken body. The beast luckily didn't crush him so much his organs would be mush, only enough to break the bones. Scorpio could only move his head without grimacing in pain.

"Thank you..." He said weakly. "Thank me when you're bones aren't dust." Leo stood ready for the beast. Aries limped over to Scorpio, exhausted and was at his limit. The beast let out a puff of air and turned, it had sensed something, it turned its head like a taser until it pinpointed the source.

It galloped at full speed in the opposite direction, surprisingly fast for only having three legs now. "Shit! It's heading for Python!" Leo gasped. "You guys either stay here or try and make it to the castle! Leo said and then ran. "Well it's kind of hard to do anything when half our body is broken, you idiot." Aries muttered.

Taurus had his arms crossed and kept an eye on the people. Virgo was huddles with Pisces in attempt to keep warm, it was helping a little but not enough. Taurus was shivering but he stiffened his body to keep it from showing.

"....just...little...flame..." He caught someone whispering. He saw the little spark appear in the ground. "YOU STUPID INSOLENT FOOL!" Taurus yelled loudly. The small spark had gotten bigger and was now as big as a campfire. People huddled around it for warmth.

"No no no no." Taurus dumped handfuls of dirt on it. "What the hell are you doing man!" A man shoved him away from the precious flame. "Saving your life!" He shouted and continued. "We were gonna die out here, that thing is gone, how long do you expect us to stay freezing?!" The man hissed.

"You think it's gone?" Virgo said quietly. "Ya, it would have come after us if it was still alive." The man crossed his arms. "You have no idea do you?" She let out a small laugh. People looked at her like she was mental.

"You all are really that oblivious?!" She clenched her fists. "What are you talking about lady?" Another man yelled. "What am I talking about? I'm TALKING ABOUT THE 5 PEOPLE OUT THERE FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES, FOR YOU! You all would have been torn to pieces if it wasn't for them, not to mention YOUR KING is out there laying his life on the line FOR YOU!" Virgo was letting it all out.
