Samantha Coleman is nothing but a worthless piece of trash to everyone.

Those were the words that kept running through her mind as she entered the entrance of the St. Mathews High School. Those were the words she last heard before he decided to disappear all of a sudden. But it doesn't matter now because that was about two years ago and now she feels free at last. She didn't miss him and she didn't have any reason to because he was the one that caused all the pain and misery in her life that led her into depression. He was the one that allowed her to stop from school for two years straight. She was homeschooled and her life couldn't get any lonelier. She hated it. She hated him for all the sorrow he caused her.

But now she's back in high school and she couldn't be more happier. This was her chance to meet friends, to feel alive and welcomed. This was her chance. She smiled.

As she walk through the school corridor, she saw some vaguely familiar faces. The ones that used to torment her everyday; the ones that used to watch the scene and laugh; the ones who carried pity in their eyes yet refused to get involved for the fear that they would have been in her position - she felt pity for herself - she felt pity for them. A lot of faces were new to her though and those were the ones she made a mental note to befriend.

She heard whispers as soon as she pass a couple of students. She didn't made an attempt to look back so she kept her head straight ahead daring not to make any eye contacts.

Isn't that Samantha Coleman?

I can't believe she'd return after all that she'd been through.

Unbelievable

If he was here she wouldn't have come

What happened to her?

Dude? Isn't that the girl? Woah...I'm speechless. Two years ago she couldn't even get one of us jocks to look her way but honestly I would totally date her

Ewww, Jack. I've always question your taste in girls----

Samantha could recognize that voice from anywhere. It was Sadie Spears the bitch of the school and one of his best friend two years ago. She ignored the whispers because they meant nothing to her anymore. She was a strong girl now who didn't fear words or standing up for herself. Her mother, her psychologist and her elder sister taught her that much.

She could feel the eyes piercing the back, sides and the center of her forehead but she refuse to make any eye contact. With head held high she head straight for her locker. When she finally reach her destination she opened it and placed some of her books and other contents inside.

With her face buried into the locker she didn't realized that someone was standing close to her until she heard the clearing of a throat. When she finally look up she wish she hadn't.

"Hey...ahh...Sam right? I remember you from two years ago...you look good". His eyes travelled up and down her body scrutinizing her with hunger. It was one of his friends that bullied her and had the courage to show his despicable face to her. She stared at him in disbelief.

"Thanks for that comment but I have better things to do than this, if you'll excuse me". She finally had the courage to speak after what felt like hours of staring. "And it's Samantha to you."

He was taken aback by her response. "Fiery! I like it. It suits you." He said with a cocky smile on his face, eyes never leaving hers. She knew what was going through his shallow brain. When had she gotten so brave to say something like that?. "Um...I just wanted to apologize for what I did to you. I was such an idiot...None of it was my fault. But I just want you to know that I'm really sorry....ughh. Can we be friends?"he asked.

Did he think she was stupid enough to accept his friendship. Her sister taught her well enough for she to recognize guys like these who only has the intention of getting into girl's pants. For heaven sake he was one of her bully two years ago. She didn't even remember his name and now he wants to be friends. She wasn't that stupid.

" Listen, I don't care about your stupid apology. You didn't think of your actions back then...why now? Is it because of the way I look now? Well that's really low class. I don't want to be your friend so just leave me the hell alone ". She was blunt and it took all of her willpower to not break out into a happy dance . She couldn't believe her outburst. He couldn't believe it either. He looked terrified. She was glad for that. At least he would back off.

She was starting to have a change of words about meeting friends. She didn't need friends, not when she had been through so many battles by herself. She is better off alone. Fighting her battles from start to finish. Nobody else.

She was alone back then.

And she wish to keep it that way.
