As soon as Samantha heard her mother's footsteps she quickly jerked herself from Lance's touch. She was too captured by the feeling of his warm finger on the corner of her mouth that she didn't realised what was bound to happen - again. God, what was she doing? Her mind was filled with emotions she couldn't explain. First, she hated him and now she find herself wanting to feel his touch; wanting to feel his lips against hers again; wanting to not hate him. Her lips tingle from the kiss and she fought the urge to reach her fingers up and touch them.
"You guys sure have some project getting done". Janett said teasingly, with two cups of lemonade in her hand. Samantha saw how hard she was trying hold the grin from her face. She then looked at Lance and saw that his attention was on the blank television screen as if he was trying to compose himself from his ragged breathing.
Why was she so weak around him? Why did she let her emotions get the best of her? Why did she wanted his finger to returned to where it had lingered just minutes ago? She was losing it. She was definitely losing it and she will do any and everything to not let him control her emotions. She was going to be tough around him. She owed him that much after what he had done to her.
Why did he kissed her? Was it some kind of joke to let her guard down so he could torture her - again? Whatever it was she needed to get her head in the game for she wanted none of that tormenting to occur again. She needed as much space she could get from him just to be safe. She didn't want to end up with a broken heart just because she was so blinded by his charm. Was this some kind of joke? Was he playing with her? Why did she had all those questions but only one thing came to mind?
Why did she find herself enjoying his presence, his kiss and his captivating green eyes?
"I'll be going now". His velvety voice broke through her train of thoughts. He was awkwardly standing with his hands in his pockets and Samantha couldn't help but find the gesture attractive. He was tall, dark and handsome. He had a prominent jaw curved gracefully around the strength of his neck showed in the twining cords of muscle that shaped his entire body, strong arms, bold thighs and calves, a firm chest and abdomen. Even though his loose black silk shirt and black trousers covered majority of his body, his muscles flex attractively under his clothing. It was a wonderful sight to see. Samantha found herself staring into his eyes that were the green of fresh dew glinting in the sunlight off a leaf of green emerald - the most embarrassing thing was that he was staring at her. Not just staring but has witnessed her ogling him and she couldn't believe she let herself look so weak gawking over a guy that she supposedly hate.
"Uh...alright bye. See you at school". She said which was definitely a lie because she was going to do anything to avoid his presence.
He stared at her for a moment. Studying her. As if he knew she was telling a lie. She opened her mouth to deny it but was cut off by her mother.
"Alright both of you". Janett said, clapping her hands together after placing the cups of lemonade on the small table that held the vase of different combination of flowers. "I'll show you the way out Lance". She said with a smile, guiding Lance to the front door. Samantha released a breath of relief. She was beyond relieved that he had left for she wasn't sure she could control the tempting desire of feeling his lips against hers again.

She tried. She tried very hard but it was to no avail. She tried hiding from Lance the next day at school but he had spot as soon as she step foot into school corridor. All he asked was if she was alright and once he received a convincing answer he headed for his class. Why did it concern him whether she was alright or not? Why was he showing so much care towards her?"What was that?". Bryan appeared next to her right after Lance dismissed himself. Was the guy spying on her on something?
"Where did you come from?" She asked curiously with a raise of her eyebrows.
"You didn't answer my question". He stated irritatedly. Why did she get the slight feeling he was jealous? But that couldn't be, could it? He saw nothing in her but a friend. Could her assumption be wrong? Of course It couldn't.
"Are you jealous Bry?". She asked teasingly. When she looked at his face and saw how irritated he was, she quickly changed the topic. "I'm just kidding okay". She told him. "We are partners in English class. That's just it". She reassured him. For a moment she thought she saw a sigh of relief escaped him but it disappeared too quickly.
"Well that's a relief to know that it isn't otherwise". He said. She could simply tell him about their kiss - her first knee-buckling kiss but why did she felt as if it was something private for only her and Lance? "Oh hey...my sister is going to Sadie pool party and I was wondering if you could come with". He added. Samantha was brought from her day dreaming when she heard that statement. A pool party? Sadie's pool party? Why in the world would she be interested in going to Sadie's party?
"Um...I don't think--" she started saying but was quickly cut off by Bryan.
"Please? I'll be by your side all day". He told her. "You won't have to worry about anything. I just want you to enjoy yourself for once". He added, which sounded very considerate. "This can make up for yesterday when you ditched me to spend time with that guy". He said. Was he some kind of spy? How did he know that she had spend time with Lance?
She finally sighed after what seemed like a long time. "Fine OK fine". She drawled.
Even though she agreed, only one question was on her mind.
Why was he so eager to attend Sadie's pool party?
