I'm done.

"So I was wondering now that we went on our first date-"

I stop abruptly and turn around and look at him straight in his eyes.

"We did not go on a date" I respond abruptly

"Well you did show up so..." Mitchell wanders off.

"I was set up to go!" I yell at him and storm the other way.

The whole morning has been chaos and annoyance with this dude. All he does is follow me around like a puppy trying to make conversation and make some moves. Even when we got to the farmers market and I had to start setting up he didn't leave me alone. I tried getting away by excusing myself to look at the other vendors but he managed to follow me.

"Why don't you want to go out with me" Mitchell says while grabbing my arm to pull me.

I can feel that his ego has been hurt and he is losing his cool.

"Mitchell you think you can get any girl and use them for a while and just throw them away but I AM NOT THAT GIRL" I say right in his face and his grip gets tighter.

"Let me go Mitchell" I say sternly but I'm wincing at the pain he is inflicting.

"What? You think you are better than me?" he gets right in my face and sneers.

"You think you can just go around teasing me and acting like you're so superior" he accuses.

His hand is digging into my flesh and all I can do is bite my lip to not whimper.

"I don't think I'm better than you Mitchell, I AM" I spit in his face and stomp on his foot making him alleviate the pressure on my arm but he doesn't let go.

He grabs me by the waist and the arm this time and I can feel him get angry and feel lust.

I know this isn't going to end well at all and my panic level starts skyrocketing. He seems to notice it because he smirks and tightens his hold. He leans into my neck and to anybody else we may seem like a couple having a romantic moment.

"C'mon Laura stop acting hard to get" he whispers in my ear " We both know you want me as much as I want you"

"You're a filthy pig Mitchell, you have no affect on me" I say at him while staring daggers.

"Look Laura if you don't straight-" He gets cut off abruptly. The grip on my arm and waist has been alleviated and I can feel cool air sweep past my arm where he once was holding.

I look down to see Mitchell sprawled on the ground holding his face and crying out in pain.

"Didn't your parents teach you when a girl says no its no kid?" I turn around to see a young man staring at Mitchell.

All Mitchell does is groan in pain not having the strength to respond.

"Oh wait the young lady here accused you of being a pig" He shrugs "makes sense, pigs don't have manners" His face gets a hard look and he bends down to look at Mitchell.

"If you don't straighten up, you'll deal with me" he says sternly.

By this time a whole crowd has gathered and are whispering around us and I can feel all their emotions. I can't seem to move because I can feel the pain and sting on my cheek and I raise my hand to hold it. The guy gets up to look at me.

He moves quickly towards me and says some foul words.

"Block it" He covers my view of Mitchell.

I can't say a word and I look up at him with wide eyes and that's when I notice his eyes.

The are the most profound color of blue I have ever seen in my life. They are outlined lightly with gold specks around his iris and it's all I can focus on.

"Block it, Laura" He says again staring at me.

"Imagine a shield and imagine the pain now" He softly say while grabbing my arms.

I imagine a shield like the one Captain America holds and it eases my rigidness.

"Imagine putting that shield in front of you blocking the pain and what people are feeling"

I imagine the emotions people are feeling in variety of colors spiraling towards me at the same speed. I imagine putting the shield right in front of me and instantly blocking them.

The relief is instant and I slump forward but his hold is firm but gentle. I realize that I never looked away from his eyes and I'm still lost in them.

"Ho-" I am about to ask him a question when someone's arms pull me away.

I look at the person and I see Luke's green eyes frantically moving across my body looking for any signs of damage. His eyes land on my arm. I move my eyes towards the spot and I realize its swelling and its bruising but I can't feel the pain. I can't feel anything, I'm hollow.

"That son of a...." Luke moves away from me and moves towards Mitchell who is getting up.

Luke grabs Mitchell from the front side of his shirt and pulls him up towards his face.

"I considered you a friend, but now you are nothing to me Mitchell you hurt the most important person in my life and I will never forgive you" He spits in his face and throws him on the ground.

Luke moves around Mitchell to hit him but before I can witness anything else I'm being pulled by the arm and pushed away from them..

The same guy who came to my rescue is pulling me towards the empty parking lot of the farmers market. I turn around to see the whole crowd engrossed in watching Luke punch Mitchell in the face. I turn back to hear the sirens of the police and see the cars coming at full speed.

"Laura look at me" They guy says frantically.

I turn and get greeted by those amazing pair of eyes.

"Drop the shield Laura" he says.

I can't comprehend what he's saying but I just stare into his eyes getting lost.

"Laura imagine the shield please" he begs.

Shield? The Captain America shield something in my head tells me so I envision it.

I make out the shield that was protecting me from all the overwhelming emotions and I realize that there aren't as many anymore.

"Drop the shield Laura". He silently begs.

I see the shield and try to drop it but it isn't budging. I try harder but it only seems to quiver and that's when I notice his eyes and the gold specks in them. I try one more time giving it all I have and the shield starts moving away and I see all the emotions getting through the crack and fly towards me.

I gasp as they reach me and fall into complete darkness.
