Eve of the Fox

Chapter 2

We had finished moving my stuff into Tsubaki's place 2 hours ago and I had just now met all of his subclass, well all except 1. Tsubaki said he was out so I wouldn't see him for a while. "Well I think it's time I give you a weapon." I smirked,

"Finally."

"Okay close your eyes." I nodded and when I opened them again I was in a dark room. Despite that I could clearly see the black fox infront of me.

"Hello, please choose one of the presents." It spoke in a slightly robotic voice. I nodded and walked forward picking up a white one with pink cherry blossom petals on it and a pink bow. It transformed into something and I reappeared in the real world. I looked down as a black leather bound journal with the silhouette of a fox in white on the front. I also had a black modern quill pen which didn't seem to have an ink cartridge in it.

"A book?" I asked flipping through the pages, they were completely blank. "How does it work?" I muttered to myself when it disappeared and what appeared to be a tattoo of a black pen wrapped around my neck, hanging from the top of the pen seemed to be a small book charm.

"It's getting late..." one of Tsubaki's subclass told me, "you should probably be heading to bead." I smiled at him,

"Lilac right? Anyways thanks for your concern I will be heading to bead now." Lilac nodded smiling and I waved to him before disappearing inside my room. I lay on the bed staring at the ceiling, I was tired but I couldn't sleep. "Ugh." I groaned turning onto my side pulling the covers up to my neck. I took a deep breath letting myself succumb to the darkness.

"Goodnight." I heard before drifting off.

"W-wake up Aiko... Tsubaki said you have school." I sat up stretching and turned to see Lilac, I nodded and he left the room as I yawned.

"Gosh this is such a drag." I muttered to myself getting dressed in a pair of black jeans, a cream colored Aerosmith band shirt and had a black and gray jean jacket tied around my waist. I stepped out of my room my backpack slung across my left shoulder. I walked into the main room and set the bag down picking up Shiro, who was now a fox, and gently putting him in. I slung the backpack back over my shoulder and left not bothering to say goodbye. Well I tried to leave when I was stopped.

"A-Aiko you told me to give this to you yesterday before you left for school." Lilac was standing behind me holding out a choker. It was part of a set, the other one was the one that I had given to Shiro. This one was black with white cherry blossom petals and a metal buckle in contrast to the white one with black petals.

"Thank you." I told him smiling as I took the choker and put it on around my neck. With that done I turned and promptly walked out waving goodbye but not turning around.

I arrived at school and sat down in the classroom waiting for the bell to ring. Mahiru walked in and over to where Sakuya and I sat. "Is Ryusei okay?" Mahiru asked and I but my lip, I knew what happened so I didn't wanna say anything.

"No." Sakuya spoke his voice serious, I saw Mahiru's eyes widen a bit before the door opened and something was thrown at Sakuya.

"Here this is the one you wanted right?" Ryusei asked, he was holding a brown bag. I turned back to look at Sakuya to see Mahiru strangling him.

"WHY DID YOU SAY THAT HE WASN'T OKAY?" Mahiru shouted,

"You seemed so serious! I thought I'd play along, make something up!" Sakuya exclaimed defending himself. After a bit Mahiru got off and started talking to Ryusei. I heard a few snippets of they're conversation paying most attention to my phone.

".... I'm lucky the car didn't hit me that hard." At this I froze and heard more talking but couldn't really make out what they where saying to shocked to pay attention. Car crash? That's not what happened, someone must have changed their memories. It had to have been another Servamp. They had finally stopped talking and the bell rung signaling the start of class.

The day seemed to pass by quickly and school was soon over. I sat at a sushi place with Tsubaki and Belkia. "Belkia you can't put a plate back on the belt once you've touched it." Tsubaki told him and I sighed at the subclasses stupidity.

"Really?" Belkia exclaimed and I rolled my eyes.

"Hey who're we waiting for? When will they be here?" I askedgetting impatient.

"They'll be here soon." Tsubaki told me and I heard the bell ding signaling another person walked in. I didn't bother to turn around opting to instead happily much on my sushi. I heard screaming and saw people leave the restaurant. "What happened to you?"

"This guy was following me so I took him out." I heard an oddly familiar voice say. I froze who's voice is that? It sounds so.... I don't now but I've heard it before.

"Oh? It could've been somebody's subclass. Aren't you worried if anyone from school saw you know it'd be pretty obvious that you're a vampire." I chose this moment to turn around and was shocked at what I saw. "Sakuya." Tsubaki finished and my eyes widened as I stared at him.

"No. I'm not worried anymore they're all liars and I hate liars."

"Sakuya?" I asked and saw him lift his head to look at me. His face was splattered with blood and we was holding a dead body.

"Aiko?" He asked, "What are you doing here? With Tsubaki and Belkia? You shouldn't be here Aiko it's dangerous." I smiled at him.

"I can't exactly leave my servamp."

"So you're... his eve?" I nodded and saw something in Sakuya's eyes change but I couldn't really tell what it was.

"It's getting late. I should be heading back... I have school tomorrow." Tsubaki nodded and I waved walking out still in shock from the previous revelation. "A vampire?" I whispered staring up at my ceiling. I looked beside me to see the little choker I had to cover my tattoo laying on my nightstand. "Ugh this is too much in one day. I'm going to sleep." I rolled over laying in my stomach and fell asleep. 

I woke up feeling an arm wrapped around my waist. I looked up of me to see Tsubaki laying down in front of me his right arm draped over my waist pulling me close. I blushed not expecting Tsubaki to do something like this. "Umm... Shiro." I muttered and saw his eyes open as I was the only one who called him that, "I have to get to school." Tsubaki smirked releasing me as I got up and stretched  wearing normal blue jeans today along with a black short sleeved Escape The Fate t-shirt and a black and white form fitting lettermans jacket. On the left side of the jacket stitched in white was a Tsubaki flower. I sighed walking out of my room whilst putting on the choker. "SHIRO!" I called and he walked out in his fox form. I put him in my bag and slung it across my shoulder walking out.

I arrived at the school and set my bag down as class started. During lunch Mahiru brought out a cat and set it on the table as girls crowded around and fed him. With all the commotion going on no one noticed me and I was able to feed Shiro without any trouble. "Hey Aiko have you seen Sakuya?" Mahiru asks and you looked up at him. Sakuya... he's not here maybe it's because...

"No." I lied though I could tell Mahiru knew something was up. "But there's something I have to tell you." Mahiru sat down beside me and I turned to look at him. "I was attacked." His eyes widened and he gasped. "By a vampire."

"What did he look like?" Mahiru demanded and I raised my hands in defense. "He had... black hair and red eyes, before he left he transformed into a fox. I was to shocked to move I didn't find out his name. Later though a pink haired man showed up, he didn't attack me but told me that the man who did attacks me was called a Servamp. I also noticed the black haired man with the pink haired one." I lied but Mahiru didn't have to know that. I saw Shirota exchange glances with his cat, Kuro, and it was then that I noticed everyone had left.

"Maybe you should come with us. Now that you know you could be targeted." I nodded inwardly smirking. I'll finally get to see this little alliance between Sleepy Ash of Sloth, Old Child of Pride, and All Of Love of Lust.

"Hey Mahiru I remembered something." Shirota turned to look at me, "a few days ago, you said Kuro was a vampire. Is he a servamp?" Mahiru nodded,

"Come with me I'll explain everything."
