A LOUD CRASH sounded through the house. The girls bedroom door slammed open, her head turning quickly towards the loud noise. Her cousin ran in, quickly jumping on the girl's bed. "So......" The blue eyed girl sighed, walking over to sit on the bed beside her cousin, "What?" She asked, turning to look at the girl brown haired girl, "Mom said you had a date." A cheeky grin lit up on the teenagers face, the older of the two groaning. The boy - who the eldest felt no attraction towards - had politely asked her out, to which she, very flustered, had replied with a small 'ok?' she was completely confused to the idea of a relationship.

Nobody really found her attractive enough to date. Though she found herself pretty, and others sometimes did too, her personality left much to be desired. She was sometimes too vulgar, or not vulgar enough. She had problems speaking her mind, or she spoke her mind too much. There wasn't a gray area with her. It was either too much or not enough. The way she viewed herself had taken a toll on her. She found herself doubting everything she did, second guessing herself.

She sighed, leaning against the headboard. "Leanne," She started, "I only said yes because I've never been asked out before. I'm 20 years old and have never had a boyfriend. That's why I agreed to the date." The 18 year old rolled her eyes, a smirk appearing on her face. "Ryan, sweetie, you gotta put yourself out there!" The blonde girl scoffed, "What would you know about putting yourself out there!"
"I've had boyfriends!"
"You've have one boyfriend and one romantic interest, chill." The brunette rolled her eyes, sighing. After a quick mutter of 'you're no fun' the younger girl jumped from the bed, walking out of the room. Ryan stood up, shaking her head as she walked.

Her bedroom door clicked shut behind her, her baby blue eyes scanning over the pictures on the walls. Most of them were of her and her brother. While they looked and acted nothing alike, they were best friends. She couldn't see herself without her brother.

A sigh escaped her lips as her aunt practically sprinted over to her. The blonde girl quickly becoming overwhelmed with the smell of her aunts perfume. She had to hold back a gag, her eyes watering as her head started to ache.

"Oh, dear! I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too, Terry."
Her aunt quickly got distracted, moving off the hug another relative. She let out a small sigh of relief, moving to sit on the couch. Her eyes narrowed at the television, the headlines read:
'BREAKING NEWS: MULTIPLE BOMB THREATS'

Anxiety flooded her veins, though she couldn't hear the the reporter. "Uncle Frank," she said, nudging his leg, "turn up the volume." He let out a loud snore in response, frustrating the girl. She reached across him, going to grab the remote. Her aunt quickly snatched it up, turning the television off. Ryan let out a loud groan, letting her arm fall.

"You're with family! Don't waste time watching television." Her brother, Mark, fell into the seat beside her, holding out a beer. She gladly took it, taking a large swig from the bottle.
She couldn't get the news headline out of her head.

Or the guy on the ground behind the news reporter.
