THE FAMILY HAD decided to go out, seeing as it was starting to warm up. They had to take three different cars, each one being packed full. Ryan messed with the hem of her shirt, pleading for this day to be over.

Ryan watched as the family sang along to some 90s song that blasted through the car speaker.

She enjoyed being with her family, she loved them to death. What she didn't enjoy was the large amount of singing they all did when together. Her baby blue eyes scanned the scenery outside, teeth digging into her bottom lip. Her brother had taken a different car, though Leanne was pressed against her side.

The eighteen year old was the youngest of the family, and they were close. They talked everyday, even though Leanne lived two states away. Her blue eyes stayed glued to the window, the streets being eerily empty.

They lived in a big town, and it was a surprise that the streets were empty. It was a nice day, the sun shining through the clouds. She couldn't help but wonder what the reporter was saying. Her aunt had always hated technology of any kind.

She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to block out the awful music and the even more awful singing. Leanne was singing along enthusiastically, nodding her head to the beat and yelling the lyrics with the rest of the family. Ryan rolled her eyes, shaking her head.

The car came to a stop, her eyes opening, the sun was blinding. "Military? What's going on?" Ryan quickly sat up, looking out of the windshield with furrowed eyebrows. People dressed in camouflage and body armor stood around the park, blocking people from leaving the county, or getting to their destination. Ryan quickly jumped out, approaching them, "Hey! What's going on?" Her voice came out harsh, desperate for an answer. The officer's eyes trailed to the car, noticing that the doors were shut and windows were closed, "Just a bomb threat, go back home, stay safe." She felt relieved, bomb threats weren't rare, even in her small town.

"Okay, thank you." She turned, getting back in the vehicle. "What's going on?"
"Just a bomb threat. Told us to go home but be safe." Her family nodded, tension still high.

She practically slammed her bedroom door shut, eyes squeezing shut. It was more than a bomb threat. She could tell that much. It was never the military, usually only local police. Something else was going on, her gut telling her it had something to do with the broadcast earlier.

"Ryan! Sweetie, come down here!" She didn't know how long she was asleep, she didn't even remember falling asleep. Her feet hit the floor silently, her eyes hardly open. "Yeah!?" Her voice echoed off the walls, her house dead silent.

Her family was huddled around the TV, all with various stages of horror on their face. Her eyes turned to her brother, worry starting to manifest on her features.

"It was more than a bomb threat."
