Disclaimer! I do not own the Warriors book or is connected with the Erin's in any way (even though I would love that) I'm just here to add my part.

Ripple yawned and shivered as the leaffall air cooled around his short fur. A water droplet trickled down his neck and he hissed with surprise. 'Raining again?' He thought to himself with an annoyed glare as the rain fell down around him. He has been living in the roots of an old tree, built stronger by some reeds and brambles that mostly shields the rain for a long time now. He had no need to move, as the prey here never ran out for one tom living by himself.
He sighed as his empty stomach growled. Ripple decided that it was time for a hunt. He stood up, shook out his pelt and crawled out from under the tree. He gasped as he looked around with surprise at the misty ground around him. The thick fog clouded his vision as he strained to see ahead of him. "Great. It's raining and foggy. Now how am I ever going to be able to hunt" he mumbled in a low voice as he scanned the trees for any signs of life.
Nothing.

Ripple shook his head slightly and he walked into the fog, tripping on roots and straining his eyes to see even the smallest ruffle in the leaves on the ground that would signal prey. He stopped dead in his tracks as his head flung around to spot a small vole hiding under the leaves. It had been unfortunate enough to move but that was all Ripple needed right now. He dropped into a hunting crouch and crept up on it slowly. Taking small steps and trying to not upturn any leaves. He know that would scare the only piece of prey he had seen today and he didn't want that.
A heartbeat before he pounced, a cat flashed out of the opposite side of him and snagged the vole. "Hey! Come back here!" He shouted as he took off after the cat. His heart pounded as he almost tripped but he kept going. Eventually he caught up to the other cat and he barred him over. "That's my vole" Ripple snarled as he planted his feet on the other cats back. Ripple still didn't have time to see who this cat was yet but he didn't want to give him the chance to escape. The other cat started to laugh under him. "You really think I need this vole?" She asked from under him. Ripple looked shocked. "You're a girl?" He asked with surprise. That made him loosen his grasp and the smaller shecat wiggled under from him. To his surprise, she flung the vole at him. "I don't need at anymore. I was just going to try it but I changed my mind. You can have it" she told him, her dark Amber eyes shimmering in the low light. Ripple let out a low growl. "You're a kittypet aren't you?" He asked. His gaze turning hard. "You can go back to your house folk and eat anytime but I can't. I have to hunt to survive. And that just now was my only meal" he told her as he took one step closer. "Alright alright. Calm down. You do have a point. I'll leave now and you can have the stupid vole" she said as she turned around and started walking back. "The names Violet by the way" she told him right before she ran off into the trees.

Sorry if it's short. I hope you liked it. I will try to upload soon!
