Prologue
Kelsey's POV
Colby and I sit together on the dock at the lake. My hair is all soaked and my makeup is ruined. I'm still wearing the hot pink dress covered in cake and water from the lake. He in his now purple and blue covered dress shirt and black slacks.
"So what does this mean for us?" I ask hopeful
"I don't know you kind ruined everything" He responded
"I did it for a reason..."
"Really. And what would that reason be Kels?"
I smiled happily, he used my nickname only he could use. But could I really tell him my reason? It would break his heart.
"Well Colby do you want to ugly truth or the beautiful lie?"
Am I ready to break the heart of the man I love?
"I'll take the truth. No matter what. I mean it can't be that bad, right?"
Oh Colby you have no idea what you're headed into.
"Well it all started with that party after midterms..."
